'The Engagement Ring'
Part of the Vivid Sydney 2024 'Drone Show'.
Saturday night, 8th June, 2024.
Photographed from the Cahill Walkway on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Campbells Cove and 'The Rocks' make up the foreground.
And for a song, to accompany this image, I have added, as suggested by Daniel Healy, 'Notice The Ring' by Chris Issak:

My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L lens.
Processed in Adobe Lightroom and PhotoPad Pro by NCH software.
I told the guy doing the installation (I am pretty sure he was not the intended) he was missing the interrogation point. He laughed and said maybe it's more like a Anforderung (a demand). Engagement as a public show seems to be becoming a thing. Now, if you are considering it, think twice. Chances are your girl might not be terribly amused.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated :)
as soon as they said, "let's do engagement photos in portsmouth", i saw this shot. i remembered this door, and knew we MUST go do some photos in front of it. and the fact that they turned out like i saw them in my mind...is utterly thrilling.
I left the gaps in the middle of the palms, so the mother-in-law could complete her 'mehndi shagun' ( which is a ceremonany where the mother-in-law' has to apply mehndi to the 'bride to be'. She wanted full mehndi even on her engagement lol
head to the blog to see all the fun I had!!!

ahahahhahahahahaah! I really love it when my ideas turn out actually very similar to the hope I have for them... rare but I love it!
Yesterday I did the mock engagement shoot with Harriett and Ashley. I plan to use my Leica cameras (M9 + M8) for the majority of my wedding photography however my Nikkor 200mm f2 AI-s offers something a bit special (despite filling an entire rucksack on it's own!)
I took along the Nikon D800 + 200f2 to see how the results compared to the Leica. I prefered the rendering of the Leica images (which I why I now shoot Leica) but the 200f2 still gave some nice crisp shots with very shallow DOF even when stopped down to f4-5.6 (as had to due to the very bright sunny condtions when using strobes).

Engagement 1,100+
The tourist town of Callander in the old County of West Stirlingshire has always been known as the "Gateway to The Trossachs" and part of the West Highlands. The daytrippers and tourists alike arrive in the town all-year-round as pictured in this February photo.
The mountain Ben Ledi is not to be confused for a Scottish munro but is known as a Corbett being 2,883ft in ascent and forms part of the Queen Elizabeth 11 Forest Park
There are several named grades of mountains and hills in Scotland and are mostly height related and are always changing due to modern GPS navigation with some being downgraded.

The day was kind of overcast, but we got about 5 minutes of beautiful light breaking through at the end of the session!
