Don't allow tokens of engagement to obscure what's most important
Blog post: slbloggersupport.com/2015/02/14/on-tokens-of-engagement-a...
I told the guy doing the installation (I am pretty sure he was not the intended) he was missing the interrogation point. He laughed and said maybe it's more like a Anforderung (a demand). Engagement as a public show seems to be becoming a thing. Now, if you are considering it, think twice. Chances are your girl might not be terribly amused.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated :)
as soon as they said, "let's do engagement photos in portsmouth", i saw this shot. i remembered this door, and knew we MUST go do some photos in front of it. and the fact that they turned out like i saw them in my mind...is utterly thrilling.
meredith is talking shoes today.
these are from a session last week at this location. it's a story of two beautiful people in love, which i hope to share soon.
I was looking through some of Phil and Sara's engagement photos and re-processing two of my favorite photos. This couple is absolutely one of the most fun to shoot.

There's something extra-satisfying about taking a picture you really like at 7 a.m. "It was this great moment … or groggily stare into the bottom of a coffee cup."
One of the first projects I was asked to do for friends. They ended up using this shot for a label on wine bottles for their engagement party.
I learned so much since then, and wish I had the knowledge then to make this shot even better.
I used the D90 and a 50mm f/1.8.
Yesterday I did the mock engagement shoot with Harriett and Ashley. I plan to use my Leica cameras (M9 + M8) for the majority of my wedding photography however my Nikkor 200mm f2 AI-s offers something a bit special (despite filling an entire rucksack on it's own!)
I took along the Nikon D800 + 200f2 to see how the results compared to the Leica. I prefered the rendering of the Leica images (which I why I now shoot Leica) but the 200f2 still gave some nice crisp shots with very shallow DOF even when stopped down to f4-5.6 (as had to due to the very bright sunny condtions when using strobes).

Dior & Maria in the studio. Maria has modelled for me a few times and was the face of Aquafresh toothpaste so she was showing Dior the ropes!
Good work Dior ;)
