Two young males locked together. it didn't seem to be serious action - just a bit of pushing and shoving pre-rut activity

The couple had a few seconds to themselves after scrambling out to the middle of the busy intersection in front of Kaminarimon | 雷門 in Asakusa, Japan

1 580 II shot into a sliver umbrella. I dragged the shutter to blur the surrounding people.

Wedding won't be for another few years, after Jay finishes nursing school.

I went alone with a friend of mine, who is a wedding photographer. He was photographing this couple who were celebrating their engagement. I took some shots and I like this one, the expression of the girl and the guy on the background on Hollywood Blvd.

I attended a picnic at Freestone Park in Gilbert, Arizona, which was sponsored by the Fred Astaire dance studios in Mesa and Chandler. But being a shutterbug, I decided to go to the park about 90 minutes early in order to get in a little photography. Among the pictures I took was this one of an engaged couple who were being photographed by a friend of theirs. The friend was equipped with a Kodak point-and-shoot. The first few pictures I took were all candid, but then I introduced myself to the trio, and they told me I could take all the pictures I wanted.

This is one of a couple of pictures of the couple posing for me, rather than for their friend. I wish I had had time to compose it a little better, because I don't like the fact that part of the young woman's arm, as well as part of her husband-to-be's foot, are cut off. But I asked my wife to look at it, and she said I should post it. I tend to trust her judgment about such things, so here it is. With those little changes, I think this portrait could have been nearly perfect; but we live and learn.

I learned that the couple is scheduled to be married on August 10 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. I said I had figured they were Mormons, and we talked about how easily members of our church manage to spot their co-religionists; it's a sort of sixth sense that we all seem to have. I can't explain it, although I know viewers of this photo who happen to be Mormon will understand exactly what I mean.

Two of my favorite people (son #3 and his girlfriend) got engaged yesterday. She's pretty much been a part of the family for the last four years so it's nice to make it official. I could not be more happy for the two of them.

...I'm going to marry the man of my dreams!

Paul asked me on beautiful, remote Kalalau beach about a week back. We were there (Kaua'i, Hawaii) for sun and surf...but this, of course, was the absolute highlight. Really, words can't express how happy I am.

Sorry to my close friends who I would rather tell in person, but I'm back in Indonesia - so that makes it hard.

Strobist: Sunpak MZ-440AF-CA full power shot through 60 inch umbrella on the left. Triggered by a pair of PocketWizard PLUS II.

I like this one better. It was tough with the wind.

We were drinking our favorite Breaux Vineyard wine when Turner popped the question. Had to get a picture of the bottle and ring together.

This vacation I got to witness two beautiful people take the next step in their relationship.

I am SO happy for them and SO happy I was there to witness and photograph this beautiful moment.

yep! you guessed it.. our friends are taking the plunge :)

Photo from a photo-shoot for my good friend's wedding invitations. They wanted something in the city but not urban so Boston Gardens and commons it was. This and the other one of them together were two of the three finalists. They were gracious enough to allow me to put these on flickr.

From the SOCO walk last night.

Long day practice, teaching, and finishing taxes.

How is everyone?

Thanks always for the comments.

I will be by tonight!
