Because I'd stopped to take some photos after getting off the train, the walkway from the Southbound Bakerloo Line to the escalators out was empty. I can't resist a shot of the Underground empty!
Although the classroom may not have the bodies of this fifth grade class in it anymore, it will always have their memories.
I enjoyed them all and wish them the best of luck at the middle school.

My version of Andy's empty bench... actually i was experimenting with placing the subject towards the top of the picture as an experiment.
I think I weirded-out the guys across the street when I came out with my tripod and camera at 2am. It was a fairly uncomfortable 25 second exposure while they watched.
Iowa Spring Manufacturing made springs for heavy equipment and overhead doors. From the size of the crane in the back and the runners under the front of the building there is more history to this place than just springs. The rail road went right by the place untill it became a bike trail. The building sits now letting the vines and trees take over. The manufacturing jobs seem to be in North Carolina now.
The empty ore train I was originally looking for comes around Bear Trap Curve on a beautiful September afternoon.
That´s how empty the land is here on Fuerte Ventura. The whole island is just one big desert. I have no idea why my parents picked this place out of all possible places.
My mom dried clothes outside on the line during all seasons. She loved the smell of outside dried clothes and avoiding using the dryer. I remember bring in frozen jeans and sitting them near the fireplace to thaw and dry. Part of our family gathered today for our first Easter since mom died. We had a bushel of crabs... home made macaroni and cheese and brownies (taste great after crabs and beer!) As I walked the dogs around the yard I was drawn to the empty clothesline and my mom.
