Finally got my hands on some fancy embossing folders, here's the results. Vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and fondant.

Coptic bound book in Fire Engine, Cherry and Hot Pink.
The front covers of this book are covered in a fire engine red paper embossed to look like snakeskin. It's got the smooth, sleekly waxy feel of snakeskin, but is vegan-friendly. The interior covers and spine reinforcements are hot pink handmade lokta fiber paper. Lokta is made from a shrub and is a renewable resource.
The textblock is made from 60lb, bright white drawing paper. The paper has a good amount of tooth and can handle ink, pencil and many other media.

- Bound with cherry red waxed Irish linen thread.
This coptic bound book opens completely flat, for ease of use.

Embossed Leaves Socks

Dates: Began 9/23/06-Finished 9/30/06
Yarn: Louet Gems Merino-color Shamrock, 2 skeins
Needles: I started off wanting to try knitting with one long circular, on a 0 Addi turbo, but it was really slow going for me with constantly moving the stitches around, so I switched back to what I'm used too, Brittany 5" DPN size 1.
Details: Although the knitting with one long circular wasn't my thing, I did learn how to use the 1x1 rib cast-on which left a very neat edge to the top of the sock. However, I did notice that it is less stretchy than my usual long tail cast-on. I also worked on knitting tighter on my needles to make guage. It was hard on my hands in the beginning, but it got better as I got further along. After making a few pair of socks with both short row heels and heel flaps, the verdict is still out on which fits better, but I think I'm leaning towards the heel flaps.
I started with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the background layer then rubber stamped the edging, little bird and "Special Delivery" postal cancellation. The vintage carriage is stamped on cream cardstock cut with a scalloped circle Nestabilities Die. The background layer is edged with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The lace and a ribbon is added with double sided tape and the cream piece is glued on with foam dots. Now came the frame for the carriage, this was done with 2 Nestabillities dies, the scalloped circle and the inverted scallop circle. We first placed the inverted scallop circle on a magnetic sheet, then lined up the points of the scallop circle with the points of the inverted scallop die. This was cut with the Big Shot and I got this cute little bubble frame which was edged with the Memento ink then glued to the cream circle.

When you put weight onto the seesaw, it presses paper between a weight and a stencil, embossing an image onto it.

Cast on 176 sts on size 2 1/2 16" circ...purled 5 rounds, did 5 leg pattern repeats of sock pattern, purled 5 rounds, bound off.
Excellent detail and sharpness, very satisfying result. The plate also help up to the pressure of the press, so shallow plates may be a technique to keep experimenting with.
I embossed in clear and then rubbed in Pearl Ex and sealed it with the heat gun.
