Midnattsola her i år også, like facinerandes som alltid. No er det to månar til ho går ned, og det blir nok ikkje lett å leggja seg når ho skin som mest. Praktisk å kunna ta bilde med mobilen og senda direkte til asbjorns blogg.

I took these pictures from the colonnade around 7pm tonight. I saw the clouds and was amazed. Luckily my daughter's camera was in my purse. I pulled it out and started taking pics but I didn't realize it was on a b & w setting. Use them however you like.

Hi James, this is the same small cluster of storms Liz Guyton posted from Fayette, AL Walmart (looking NE) .Mine are from a different angle (looking due east from Franklin county) The small cluster was located from southern to northern Winston county. I'm guessing Liz took the Fayette view at about 7:20pm or so (being a little lighter out). My lightning video freeze frame shot happened at 8:06pm in northern Winston county. Using lightning and radar maps at 8:06pm and my picture, I calculated the lighting came out of the thunderstorm at roughly 20,000 feet up and hit the ground about 6 miles NW of the storm cloud edge. That's what they call "Bolts From the Blue", very dangerous of course.
