Strange, surprising, good and bad evening. There were at least 15 people at the owl stakeout, at a known nest hole. That felt wrong, and most of the people were in general so loud they clearly did not know how to behave at an owl stakeout.
I arrived early to get an autofocus on the nest hole, and then switched to manual focus for when it turned dark. I hoped for a shot of a couple of eyes at the nest hole before the elf owl flew out to hunt.
It got very dark, and it seemed to me that the owl was not going to show, because of the noise. But then the male flew in and became a silhouette in a nearby tree. The 2 owls started giggling. Then, completely out of the blue, one birder turned on a huge flashlight and lit one of the owls in the tree. I was uncomfortable with the strong beam of light, but since the owl was lit, I really quickly moved the tripod and manually focused on the lit owl and got a shot.
Manual focus is just not a strength for me, so I am proud of having pulled that off, fast and under pressure. But otherwise not too proud of the whole stakeout altogether.

This is my 1st published creation made with the help of AI. It is actually a mix from secondlife images and AI.
I recently decided to start creating with the help of artificial intelligence. My opinion is that even with the help of AI you can still be creative and make unique art. I don't just add touches to ready-made images, I create them with my own imagination, taste and talent.

I've have many friends who feel this attached to their beer, any brand of beer! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and please don't drive if you've been drinking a lot of beer says my friend the Elf on the Shelf.
It seems that often my Lego folks wander onto another toy set that isn't theirs.
Apparently he found an Alien's Hell-Hound.
But Brave Elf that he is ... he is a quick thinker!
I’ve been trying to figure out my Elf Blaine’s style since I liked him in his sock sweater and stuff but I didn’t like the colours on him. But then I remembered the rainbow sweater I made would fit him perfectly so yeah. I also used a nail clipper and trimmed down his frames so they looked a bit more in scale lol.
Anyway I’m happy enough to photograph him properly heh…
