Willow Warbler delivering food to its nest site, Hogganfield Loch, Glasgow, Scotland

overcast and rainy. suddenly as though the sun was making a giant statement, there it was beaming from the clouds. it was an amazing sight that i couldn't recreate or duplicate on my own. not even in my photoshop.

Valley Watermill. Springfield, Mo.

with one month, four weeks, 30 days to go

i think we all know,

the truth

i have seen almost no snow

and boy i always wanted it to go

away.

but hey.......

not this way.....

please tell me if what you think

tell me the trick

is it or isn't it, a government conspiracy

no snow, warm weather, what next

a hex

no i think that all my gardening is going to change

my plants won't be the same

my skills will have to incorporate

a lot of late knowledge by global gardeners

who took global warming seriously

soon enough my plants may leave me

then and only then shall we be

sorry.

here was one window view from my one room apartment in Heidelberg Germany in the 1970's.

Another go with the chrysanthemum

spirits are worn thin

in this atmosphere we are in

the canvas of life has been stretched to the end

lovely colors are fading away

but come what may

this is what i will say.

we artists have a choice we have a voice

we have a heart that is not a part of this

our souls are old

our rhythms in sync

with what to do and what to say

let us be a part of the heart of love

where truth and happiness abound and are found

in our art and with one voice make that choice

in darkness of today let us all say

love is everywhere.

take the hardness of the times

make no use of it's signs

death and strife

are not our life

summer or virus

who wins the test

of running our lives

oh what a mess

heat hot oh so bad

i'm sad and glad that snow is almost here

what you say are you crazy and mad

oh yes i say it really is sad

when summer is a burden that the virus can help

that summer is hot enough to make me melt

so put on your mask

i know you can't breath, oh what a task

mask and sweat with no outlet

no swimming or hugging no mingling of sweat

no kissing or holding hands

so what is summer for if we can't have a romantic outlet.

i smell your barbecue from 6 feet away

i can only imagine there is nothing more to say!!!!!!!

except GO AWAY

Taken a few weeks back (I really did take a lot of pictures on this day)... another perspective where the snow allows for sharp contrast and the opportunity to minimalise the lone figure (my wife) walking in the distance, following a path around the local reservoir.
