With good weather still prevalent (although I believe it won't last much longer) we thought it prudent to get out and paste up some more of the numerous posters that are hanging around the studio. So with the sun on our backs and a cheeky smile on our faces we set out to take our wares to the streets.
I knew i had this one nailed when a friend came up with the title. Little did he know it at the time (as he was talking about something else entirely) but he had just helped me put this one to bed. I love it when a plan comes together…
Cheers

Views of ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure. Even though I don't care about the upcoming movie, it is a cool place to hang out and photograph.

The Ars Electronica Labs are a place of interchange between different knowledge cultures. They are all about passion for exploring and designing the world. There are many exciting topics to discover in the CitizenLab, SecondBodyLab, MaterialLab and BioLab.

To the east of the main building is an attractive plaza that makes a tapering transition into tiers which function as steps and seating. Directly beneath this plaza—now known as Ars Electronica Square—is the Center’s Main Gallery, a 1,000-m2 exhibition area, the floor of which actually lies below the water table. Connected to this hall are the labs, workshops and testing facilities of the Ars Electronica Futurelab.

Photo showing an impression of Gallery Performances, Agora Digitalis, The Wild State 2020 Campus exhibition.
Agora Digitalis is the Interface Cultures’ meeting point during the 2020 Campus Exhibition. The general idea behind it is to create an informal setting where students, (future) makers and future students can meet and become acquainted with Interface Cultures. Agora Digitalis is a physical and virtual place where everyone should be able to share and express their ideas. It is planned as a place for informal learning and critical debate about developments in the arts, technology and science. This year’s State of Intimacy edition will undoubtedly reflect on our recent online experiences and it might also, in its slipstream, revisit recent techno-utopian ideals.

A DJ spins songs from the '80s as part of ElecTRONica, a nighttime event happening in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot of Disney California Adventure.

One of the wonderfully talented dancers at ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure strikes a pose.
I thought the light structure looked like a space craft, so I climed onto the planter box behind her stage and positioned myself so it would be in the background looking like it was there to pick her up. I had to wait for pauses between beats of music where she would freeze long enough to snap a photo.
This year's Fusion festival was another great event. Even more people attending than last year - at least that's how it felt. Otherwise, business as usual.
