Yeah, I know. It's really blurry, but it's the only pic I have of the ol' v2. This one fit into a Milwaukee Saws-all case. Didn't work all that well, because I had to dismantle everything completely in order to fit everything in there. But it looked kinda cool. The chain is a little strange...

from EHX.com:
"Combining four classic germanium transistors, the Germanium Big Muff Pi is the result of a focused modern design dripping with EH analog heritage. An independent overdrive and distortion each have their own sets of two germanium transistors as well as independent controls. The ability to stack and use both the overdrive and distortion together delivers the power of a four germanium transistor circuit with ultimate control flexibility."

Seeing as I couldn't get a picture of myself from band practice, I decided I'd represent myself through my nice collection of pedals.
In signal chain order (ottom right to top left) - Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner > GLX Bass Limiter/Enhancer > Electroharmonix Little Big Muff > GLX Guitar Equaliser > Electroharmonix Small Stone phase shifter > Behringer UT-100 Ultra Tremolo.
The Chain:
Vox AC15<<Boss RV-3 (Digital Reverb/Delay)<<Mr. Echo (Digital/Analog Delay)<<DOD FX25 (Envelope Filter)<<Boss PS-5 (Super Shifter)<<Electro-Harmonix LPB-1 (Line Boost)<<Marshall Shredmaster (Heavy Distortion)<<ProCo Rat 2 (Light Distortion/Grit)<< Guitars (Fender Telecaster Plus/Fender Starcaster)

A lot have changed since my last pedalboard picture which was the biggest I ever had. After that I bought the Vox amp which doesn't react that well to some pedals and moreover I wanted less distraction so I came back to something really simple with juste distorsion, delay and a tuner.
But it couldn't last, Gas got me again but what saves me is maybe lazziness : I don't want to carry a bigger pedalboard than the one in the picture or have some other pedals outside. So I'm gonna stick with this and actually it's enough to do quite a lot of flavors thanks to the digitech on the left that does wah, pitchshift, chorus, flanger and leslie
Chaining :
guitar > Visual Sound Route 808 (overdrive) > Fulltone PlimSoul (overdrive/distorsion) > EHX Freeze > Boss TR-2 Mod (Tremolo) > Digitech EX-7 > EHX Memory Man with Hazarai > TC Polytune > amp

A very rare E.H. effect. This is a pedal you 'play to', not with, like the Boss Slow Gear or the Maestro Envelope Modifier. Though it is nothing like either of those pedals, timing is everything with this pedal. Once you get it down: LOOK OUT. Trippy, cool, crazy, wacky. This thing is amazing. Still, it must be set just right, and you must play to it's rhythm. Very cool pedal
A while back I was researching this model but couldn't find a good diagram for connecting the fragile and prone to break wiring to the jacks and switches. I traced the PC board for the 4800 and compared it to the schematics to derive this little map. The later model's wiring diagrams can be found on generalguitargadgets. I think this version is correct, it seems to work for my EH-4800 small stone. As always, your results may vary. And remember, "the bigger the blob, the better the job".
E-H/Sovtek Small Stone, original broken pot and replacement pot ready to go in (placement tab bent out of the way and lugs wired together). The pot on the right is original, the pot on the left is the new pot ordered from Small Bear Electronics ( www.smallbearelec.com ). They have a great selection of Electro-Harmonix and Sovtek replacement parts, as well as lots of other cool stuff. Check out their site!
Reconfigured the pedal board, adding a new toy to the train - an electro-harmonix Superego synth engine. Fantastic for creating some great Pink Floyd sustain effects. Pulled the Crybaby wah off the rack for now. Removed the fingerboard from the EpiDot. These settings (RP-155, SP and CS-3) give me a nice Black Sabbath sound (ala WASP) so decided to capture for future reference.
Because you need to know these things.

E-H/Sovtek Small Stone, side. This pedal was purchased by Matt on eBay for less than $30 including shipping, because the pot shaft had been broken, making it impossible to change the speed of the phasing.
My take on the Big Muff, using the "Der Muff Green Russian - Distortion kit" from Das Musikding as a base and the Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz as an inspiration for mods. It has the Focus (Lowend) and Mids knobs as found in the first incarnation of the Musket and a smoothness switch I came up with myself.
Read all about it on the Workbench of the UK Les Paul Forum: Done a bit of Muff research.
L to R: (top) Boss EQ, DOD OD 250 reissue & original, DOD 280 Compressor, Vox wah, DeArmond volume, (middle) Signalflex A/B, MXR Distortion+, MXR Bass Octave, (bottom) ProCo Rat,
custom circuit bent loop box, EH Micro Synth, EH Bass Balls, (not shown) Morley Emerald Echo, MXR Distortion II, MXR Noise Gate/Line Driver, EH LPB-2, EH Silencer, ProCo Rat #2
I couldn't get a good picture in the music room, so it's in the window sill.
Signal path: Guitar -> wah -> Little Big Muff -> Amp (Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue) -> FX Loop Out -> EQ -> Pulsar -> Chorus -> Delay -> Looper -> FX Loop in
I want to add another overdrive pedal in there so I can have a couple levels of gain at the ready. The Barber LTD is looking mighty tasty.
