Work on this bridge was postponed at the 59th minute of the 11th hour back in the Spring, when the strain on road traffic was deemed too great with several significant cross-valley bridges (Skew, Blackrod, Adlington and Lostock Lane) all closed simultaneously.
With all of them now reopened work is st to resume at Grimeford Lane.
Taken from Grimeford Lane looking north.
It's taken me nearly six years but I finally have a decent photo of lightning! I took this during a thunderstorm that passed through the area about an hour ago.

“Electrified: One Million Volts Always On” is the latest event surrounding the world-renowned illusionist, David Blaine, and we developed two data visualizations of the Twitter activity happening in response to it.
Taking place at Pier 54 on New York’s West Side, the live event allows the public to witness David Blaine standing in the middle of a million volts of electricity. Spectators can type messages to him, control the electricity around him, and help keep him alert.
Viewing stations aren’t just located in New York City, visitors all around the globe can participate. Intel’s Ultrabook stations are set up in London, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney. Viewers at the stations will also be able to control the coils.
The event is being livestreamed on YouTube, and is sponsored by Intel and Vice Magazine.

Coleman made CQ lamps in several variations from 1910's to late 1920's. Millions of them. A GREAT lamp, easy to work on, easy to use.
Two electrified CQ lamps from the Leonard Johnson Auction April 6, 2019. I figured I could make one lamp out of the two after adding some other parts I had purchased there as well.
BAD IDEA. Electrification of lamps can be done with some sensitivity so as to not create permanent damage. These were not them. I had originally hoped to resolder the fount of one and use best pieces to make a decent one, but i am not sure the fount is sound with all the solder rattling around in it - so - at the end - I have usable parts:
2 globe holders and the nut to hold them on the mixing tube
2 handle assemblies (some minor damage)
1 valve complete
1 valve wheel and needle
1 repairable single patent air tube
1 R55 generator that may or may not be any good
1 Q99 generator that is probably good
An Education - not too expensive - and certainly useful!
I will hold onto the parts, and try to find a home for the poor founts
Worst part of it all - these were so poorly done that the person who did it may have been shocked by the electricity leaking from bad wiring (no bushings through sharp edges. Appear to have had little or no use. I suspect these were bought as parts llamps
Just been having a play with Topaz Glow, a Photoshop and Lightroom plug-in. This is an image that I took a few weeks ago and though that it was ok, but not that great. This plug-in has given it wings so to speak after just a few minutes. Think I may print this up large and hang it on my study wall and if anyone should ask, I'll tell them it took me weeks in Photoshop ;-)
