Además para recorrer distancias cortas, lento y siendo totalmente eléctricos, probablemente tengan sentido económico además de ecológico.
This 1954 14cwt Smiths battery electric van, 936 JUP, is used by Beamish Tramways as a maintenance transport vehicle within Beamish Museum. It spent most of it's working life in the service of Newcastle General Hospital performing local delivery duties. It is seen here in the tramshed in March 2008.

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz made its global premiere at the 1st Annual VW Bus Day in Huntington Beach, CA recently. Inspired by the iconic Microbus, this all-electric transporter captured the attention of over 230 enthusiasts who participated in the nostalgic yet futuristic festivities. One of the notable attendees was All American actor Kareem Grimes, known for his role as Preach on the popular football show. Grimes, a devoted VW Bus owner (1967 Deluxe Samba) and an EV aficionado, shared his thoughts on the upcoming VW ID. Buzz while reveling in elation for the forthcoming electric revolution.

Two fine old vehicles set out on another day's work at Beamish Museum tramway. 1901-built tram Newcastle-upon-Tyne 114 stands alongside 1954-built 14cwt Smiths Battery Electric Van 936 JUP. This vehicle was built by Smiths Delivery Vehicles of Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead and carries Northern Counties Coachwork.
