Electrical cord, coiled by someone who knew what they were doing

The switch.

Years of exposure to the elements are obvious on this metal tubing that carried the electrical wiring to the switch.

Likewise years of exposure has dried out the timber that once served as an external wall on the old house which is estimated to be at least 100 years old.

From what we know the house was last inhabited in the 1970's.

Sculpted bronze with l.e.d(s) tucked under the leaves.

Soon after 8 o'clock on Sunday morning, a lorry arrived outside my house. By the time I got back at half-past ten, the lorry had gone and the hole had been filled in 😳

These two sculptures/ fixtures(?) weighed about 75lbs each.... right Mark? We took the ceiling unit up and down 3 - 4 different times.

Modules turned on, wooden frame can be seen, uh, barely.

I've had a bit of trouble with the ignition barrel on my bike in recent months, with the key having to be in a 'just so' position for the bike to run.

I don't want it to fail when I'm on the road, so I ordered up a replacement barrel, which I started work on today. The replacement part was a perfect fit and the harness corresponded perfectly.

Alas, the internal wiring is different meaning that the ignition shorted two pins that it shoudn't have and burned out my gearbox neutral circuit.

With a bike gearbox, they're commonly sequential, with one kick down for first, then kicks up to go up through the gears, with neutral being between 1 and 2. It's not always obvious when you're in neutral so there's an indicator to let you know. Mine doesn't.

I broke out the multimeter to try and trace the fault and it looks like it's the switch itself which has failed. That's relatively easy to replace, so I'll that as a win. I don't have one, that's less of a win.
