I was in a black and white mood, and quite liked the slightly monolithic feel in this one. So Happy Monochrome Monday !
G-WPDB built by Airbus Helicopters in 2015 owned by South Western Helicopters at Bristol Airport and operated for Western Power Distribution seen skimming the tree tops near Minworth whilst inspecting power lines, some very impressive low level flying.
Another in my series of painted electrical boxes. This is the back view showing a narwhal and a whale in Mimico, Toronto
Second floor of abandoned and decayed City Trust and Savings Bank (est. 1918)
Campbell, OH
The bank that occupied the first floor was frequented by steel workers at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube company.
Around 1977, almost all of the steel mills in the area (at one time steel mills lined 60 miles of the Mahoning River) closed down. More than 5,000 workers lost their jobs and the bank eventually closed. A dry cleaning company then occupied the first floor. Now, it is possible to visit the second floor of the bank which had been occupied by dentists, an X-ray company, the steel workers' union, and other businesses. (See below for info about tours.)
This bank building is close to the Steel and Tube Company Homes in Campbell, Ohio, which were constructed from pre-fab concrete from 1918 to 1920. The community is now designated as an historic site. A few of the homes are still occupied, but most are abandoned and in ruins. I will be posting photos of this site in my Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company Homes albums. (My albums are mostly in alphabetical order so that album will be on the last page of my albums.)
The site is open for tours on Sunday afternoons. You need to make reservations. For 4 hours, the cost is $20 which goes to the preservation of the site. You must sign a waiver of liability because some of the site is littered with trash, has steep steps, etc. You will be warned to look before each step and also that stairs or floors might be dangerous. (See ironsoup.com for more info on arranging a tour.)

This is where I study. The Electrical Engineering Department of College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, NUST.
The Sun goes down and the young sliver of the Moon lights up the sky and so do the electrical storms dances in and around out atmosphere. I am sketchy on the science, I am oils and tones on these offerings. My camera was set to create an auto white balance and it did. The camera did follow the workings of the system it has, but it was not an accurate representation of the sight seen by my eyes. The initial colours and intensity of the image would look similar to how the scene could be seen when squinting your eyes. The colours and intensity given in these edits has been increased for a visual effect. Astronomy does use many filters and settings to see through some reflective gases and dust clouds and colours are sometimes generated to better distinguish the elements within an image. Here there is no science and no exact setting, here there is feeling and enjoying that is now delivered in this sharing. The original picture was edited into the style of an oil painting. I pushed myself too hard last night and today I am bits and pieces so I am might either revise, or completely redo these images. They are artistic representations of last night initially generated as a photograph and then altered and style into digital versions of oil paintings.
I am going off to collapse again into a sleep deeper than the dancing portals opening and closing in the sky last night. I do not know which decade I will wake back up in. It is often the 1980s and it takes a strange while to return to contemporary reality around me.

The sea, it swells like a sore head
And the night, it is aching
Two lovers lie with no sheets on their bed
And the day, it is breaking
Let's see colours that have never been seen
Let's go to places no one else has been
On rainy days, we'd go swimming out
You're in my mind, all of the time
I know that's not enough
Electrical Storm
Babe don't cry
One of many fascinating stores to be found in shopping centres in townships and township clusters such as Soweto. This store had used electrical goods for sale ( and perhaps repair too).
Taken in Australia near Hastings Point in NSW. This is looking south towards Byron Bay and the storm was simply Epic!!
Lots of electrical work being done nearby, and I finally found the parking lot being used for supply and surplus storage! Brought to you in PANO-Vision!
can make for a great photographic effect. That grayish area around the edges is not part of a post processed addition but the result of playing "stalker." I was shooting from behind several transparent electric metering devices with a long lens. I rather like the effect.
Ambient light only. 5D MK III + 135mm f2
Note: Over the last few days, many people have added me as a contact. This is cool but please do not add me without at least commenting once or twice. Let me know you are a real person, not a stalker :)
