Central Eixample is a very well equipped apartment but mainly charming and giving a very welcoming feeling. It is real pleasure to spend time in this very bright apartment renovated in June 2007. Despite its very central location (in the upper Eixample neighbourhood) one can breathe peace and quiet thanks to its orientation as it gives into the inner courtyard.
This 65 m2 apartment is located on a first floor (here called "principal"), without elevator (only twenty steps to get there). The living and dining area are spacious enough to make you feel comfortable. It is visually separated from the well-equipped American kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed, both with a cupboard where you can put your personal belongings. Both the living room and the main bedroom give out on a glass gallery with lots of light. The washing machine-dryer is located in a small separate room. A large and pleasant bathroom, which has both a bathtub and a separate shower with glass screen, completes this offer.

Casa Batlló is a building in the centre of Barcelona, Spain. It was designed by Antoni GaudÃ, and is considered one of his masterpieces. A remodel of a previously built house, it was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudà (but the actual construction works hadn't begun at this point) and has been refurbished several times since. GaudÃ's assistants Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, Josep Canaleta and Joan Rubió also contributed to the renovation project.
The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), as it has a visceral, skeletal organic quality. It is located on the Passeig de Grà cia in the Eixample district, and forms part of a row of houses known as the Illa de la Discòrdia (or Mansana de la Discòrdia, the "Block of Discord"), which consists of four buildings by noted Modernista architects of Barcelona.
Like everything Gaudà designed, Casa Batlló is only identifiable as Modernisme in the broadest sense. The ground floor, in particular, has unusual tracery, irregular oval windows and sculpted stonework with sinuous, squiggly forms. There are few straight lines, and much of the façade is decorated with a colourful mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles (trencadÃs).
In 2005, Casa Batlló became an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

L'Eixample is smack bang in the middle of Barcelona. Its grid patterned streets are host to a number of striking buildings and fantastic architecture, especially around the area around Passeig de Gracia and La Ramblas. Here you will also find the extraordinary Sagrada Familia. This controversial church, unfinished because of the untimely death of its architect, Antoni GaudÃ, in 1926, has become the city's most visited monument. This was the aspect of the house until yesterday. Today they are painting it again. Let's wait and see.
April/06 - When I came to Barcelona my dad suggested that one interesting photo project would be balconies. While balconies in Barcelona - as any other architectural detail - are very interesting and varied, I've become fascinated by the sunrooms/bay windows in some of the buildings. These were shot along Passeig San Joan.
