(Wikipedia)

My one claim to fame is that I was born in the same town as Einstein

While installing our GPG photography exhibit at Einsteins Café in Guelph, the details of the banister caught my eye.

Illustration for an article in New Scientist about how Einsteins theory of relativity may no longer be able to explain the vastness of the universe as we now know it.

-I went for the good old 'write it big' option.

Walking along the beach reminds me of a question Albert Einstein once posed to another physics nerd:

Why is wet sand a 'hard' surface to walk on whereas dry sand and sand under water are 'soft'. The answer is due to the effects of surface tension.

"If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called Research" - A. Einstein. My supervisor always used to tell me this. This was on an office wall at the headquarters of the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope.

As noted by Robyn in the comments below, this quote may not be reliably traced back to Einstein. It is still a nice quote even if it isn't Einstein's.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

This is Einstein, this is how he looks when he wakes up in the morning before he has his coffee, brushes his hair and puts on his makeup!
