...nothing like a warm bubble bath on a cold dreary winter day.

to edward weston, who made me buy a second hand egg slicer at the community thrift store.

House DIY series & college project

I have been busy for many things so didn't have a time taking photos outside - hopefully tomorrow.

Here is my another abstraction/distortion project result (again.....). Try to be Andre Kertesz style....!

I need to do a couple different angle shooting, anyway I put one I took today.

It was just one second sunshine after heavy rain, so I was lucky to get shadow. Thanks to my daughter who was my assistant today.

P.S. Guess, what is King G..

House DIY series with egg slicer

Queen G has a double face.

Her round face is always full of smiles, but time to time difficult once she is serious.

My college assignment of Unit 2 was over last week. (good news)

I wanted to post it 2 weeks ago but just missed a chance. if I miss it now, it will be more delay so please be patient to see it today! - I aplogize.

It is a different shape of shadow with a little magic (really?), I hope you like it.

The beginnings of a quite tasty lunch, if I may say so.

I can’t think of anything more specialized than an egg slicer. All it does is slice eggs, although I know people use them for other soft foods.

I finally bought a 50mm lens. It's my first prime lens, so it takes some getting used to. I'm used to a zoom lens, but now I have to back up or move closer to get the framing I want! But really like the sharper focus I'm getting with this lens.

A lovely old '40s egg slicer!

Calimero and Priscilla having some fun together.

I realized "after" the shot that Calimero wears an eggshell as a hat.

Priscilla already knew he'd fit perfectly in the egg slicer. :-)

Simple egg slicers

Yet again my kitchen drawer is a real mess, this drawer always has my small items for cooking..why do I keep buying more "treasures" ? often I duplicate these things but seem obsessed in buying more...tomorrow I will clear it all out again and donate the extras that I "really" dont need to the charity shop...

Egg slicers are also good for slicing mushrooms, strawberries, etc.

Using an eggslicer, 3 times per egg gives you nice, even, little cubes.

After my workout at the gym I was pretty hungry when I arrived home! So, a boiled egg, sliced and chopped for a nice comforting sandwich!

Day 331 of 365

"Portrait 331"

Quickly! When was the last time you used one? What......you don't own one? Just think of all the thing you can do with it!!!! Well, you are missing out. Have you ever had a day when you simply could not come up with a concept? Not me!!! Actually, today I had NO idea what I would be photographing. Also, I only had a few minutes to find something, shoot it, and resize the image for posting. My sister and niece took the little one for a walk, so I had to work quickly. I was pondering what to eat for dinner, spotted the egg slicer, and I had a vision!!!! To be honest, I had no idea how to approach the egg slicer. Sure, it is naturally a sexy subject, but how does one light it? I was working against time, so I snooted a speedlight, centered it on the white (yes, white) paper behind the slicer, and then pondered how to light the slicer itself. I first put a dish on my Paul C. Buff Einstein, but the light was too harsh. I then stuck a strip bank on it, and the light turned to butter!!! No more harsh light on the yellow plastic part, and Bob's your uncle!! In post, I simply boosted the saturation a bit, and that was it. I was quite happy with how the white background went blue. Insert sound of kissing all your finger tips at once. Thanks for cutting through.

Little Used Cooking Object/Objects

WIT

My egg slicer isn't used very often because, well, I don't know why. So I put an egg-shaped, polished rock on it, and a light behind it. My sister (visiting from California) held a white kitchen towel in front of that light. Voila!

Stuck in the house due to the recent rain so I decided to create a little tribute to Ansel Adams' 'STILL LIFE San Francisco, c 1932'....and I thought it might look o.k. on my kitchen wall :-))))

found this in a thrift store. like a little harp with an egg throne... what an object!

Gelatin-silver photograph on Ultrafine Silver Eagle VC FB photographic paper, image size 21.5cm X 16.3cm, from a 4x5 Kodak Tmax 400 negative exposed in a Tachihara 45GF field view camera fitted with a top-hat lensboard carrying a 330mm single meniscus lens and a #25 red filter.

This little guy's very cute, but there's something moderately disturbing about a chick mutilating an egg.
