My haul of Disney Classic Villains drinkware that I bought last week at my local Disney Store. They consist of four 20 ounce mugs depicting the Evil Queen, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil and Ursula on individual mugs, with artwork from their original animated movies. There is also a Ceramic Disney Villains Travel Tumbler and a Stainless Steel Disney Villains Water Bottle, each of which have images of all four of these Disney villains. They cost $8 each when bought in pairs (2 for $16 drinkware sale). Also in the photographs is the Movie Moments Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Mug, of which I got two copies, since she is my favorite Disney Princess.

The Disney Store has unveiled a new Disney Villains franchise, in May 18, 20112, with lots of merchandise. It is the evil counterpart to the Disney Princess franchisse, although not all Disney Villains are associated with official Disney Princesses. It includes the upcoming Disney Villains Designer Collection, with Limited Editon 12'' Dolls and various other merchandise.

This folder concentrates on the Classic Villains - the villains as they were originally depicted their Disney animated movies. So far they consist of these four female villains:

Evil Queen - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Maleficent - Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Cruella de Vil - One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1956)

Ursula - The Little Mermaid (1989)

The Limited Edition Ariel and Eric Doll Set, #12 of 6000, in their display case, with the clear acrylic cover removed. None of the factory restraints have been removed, but I have cleaned up Ariel's face a bit, and cut off a loose thread from her blouse. Photographed using built-in camera flash.

My pre-ordered Ariel and Eric Doll Set, from the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. It arrived on October 15, 2013, and I was thrilled to see that they are numbered #012 of 6000! It matches the number of the other doll sets in the pre-order, except that Snow White and the Prince is #4508 of 6000. There are some slight scratches on the gold nameplate and on the acrylic cover of the display case, but they are very minor, and don't diminish the look of the set. Ariel's head is posed a bit awkwardly, but I'll see if I can adjust it a bit without undoing any of the shipping restraints. There is also a loose thread hanging from the left sleeve of Ariel's blouse. Otherwise, Ariel and Eric look very beautiful, and in perfect shape. I'm so happy that I have them after failing to get them in the in-store raffle earlier in the day.

I'm not going to debox the dolls in this set, but I am going to take photos of it boxed, with the cover sleeve off, and with the clear acrylic cover off, to show off the dolls as much as possible without actually removing them from their factory restraints.

The Mk. V Mini was introduced in 1984 running to 1990 and the advent of the Mk. VI. All cars featured 8.4 inch disc brakes and plastic wheel arches (Mini Special arches) but retained the same Mark IV body shell shape. By this time sales of the Mini were steadly declining and a number of limited editon special models were released.

in June 1988 the Mini Designer was released, based on the Mini City and powered by a 998cc version of the BMC A Series engine. Cars were finished in White (NMF - BLVC449) or Black (PMA - BLVC90 with Nimbus exterior trim, Twin coachlines and "Designer" logos on the rear side panels and bootlid the interior was Black and white striped fabric with ‘Mary Quant’ signatures embossed. the car also featured Tinted glass, opening rear side windows, leather-rim steering wheel and two vanity mirrors in the sun visors.

The Mini Designer was often called the "Quant" in reference to the Mary Quant-designed interior and Quant Daisy motifs on the steering wheel and bonnet badge

Snow White and her Prince have now been fully deboxed. They are posed standing, supported by the built-in doll stands in the base of the display case.

This regular version of the Snow White and the Prince Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Set has the same two base dolls as the D23 special edition dolls that I reviewed earlier. That is the dolls themselves are identical in every way (except for the serial numbers on the back of the Prince dolls). They also have outfits of almost identical designs, but made of different materials and with differing colors. So the dolls have different looks, especially the Snow Whites.

Snow White has the body of a 2012 Disney Store Classic Princess doll. That is, she has hard plastic legs, with hinged knee joints and ball jointed ankles. She is missing the usual manufacturer's marks printed on Disney limited edition dolls, including the part number and her edition size and serial number. She is also missing the twist waist joint of the previous Designer Princess and Designer Villain dolls. She has a pale complexion, the same as the 2012 Snow White, with whom she shares the same body. However, her neck joint has more freedom of movement, especially downward, and her painted on panties are deep golden yellow, much darker than the 2012 Snow White.

Her face mold appears to be the same as the 2012 and 2013 Classic Snow White, but with a considerably different face paint than either of them. She has large dark brown eyes that are glancing to her left, with four short thick lashes over each eye and four very short and thin lashes under each eye. Over her eyes is gold eyeshadow, and thin black eyebrows gently following the curve of her eyes. She also had short rooted eyelashes that are just barely curving upwards, and are even in length. She has a small button nose, a small mouth with blood red lips forming a charming open mouth smile. She has light pink rouge over most of her cheeks, and a round face with small chin. She is a very beautiful and faithful representation of the sweet and charming movie character.

Her hair is a considerable departure from the traditional short flip hairdo. Her jet black hair is parted to the left of her head, and pulled tightly over her head into a medium length braided ponytail that tapers down to a point and is secured by black rubberband, and is sewn to her collar on her right side. There is a small amount of hair product applied just above her forehead, to a thin strip of her hair. In my doll, that strip keeps on separating from the rest of her hair. I haven't been able to integrate it with the rest of her hair; perhaps I will have to apply more hair product to keep it place. There is a thin bright red satin ribbon around the top of her head that ends in a small bow at left side of her head.

Her outfit is a take on her traditional Princess gown. Her bodice and skirt are separate pieces. The bodice is dark blue velvet with gold piping and elaborate gold embroidery, and decorated with a bow made of metallic gold thread. The floral design is similar to the D23 doll, but differs in its details. She has puffy sleeves of the same dark blue velvet, with separate ribbons of bright red satin that float over the velvet. The sleeves have black lace cuffs decorated with gold hearts, and the oversized collar is pure white lace folded in a fan-like manner behind her neck and head. Her skirt is dark golden taffeta with gold embroidering incorporating fleur-de-lis, flowers and hearts. The embroidery in the skirt is identical to that of the D23 doll. The taffeta gives the skirt has a wrinkled, antique appearance. It has a thin pale tan satin lining. There are golden rhinestones scattered throughout the bodice and skirt of her dress. Under her dress is a floor length white satin slip with the lacey pattern at the hem showing below her skirt. It is sewn to her skirt at two spots at the hem, which I chose to leave alone for now. It is also sewn to the waist band of the skirt, so it is a permanent part of the skirt. She is wearing golden tan flat shoes (or slippers), the same as the D23 doll. It is a beautifully designed and beautifully made outfit that is a darker and more ornated version of the Princess outfit of the movie character.

The Prince appears to have the standard Disney Store Prince body, with articulation at the neck, shoulders, hinge jointed elbows, ball jointed hips, and internal knee joints with limited movement. His hands and feet are large, but his head is disproportionately small compared to Snow White. His face has a neutral expression, with small, narrow deep blue eyes, wide mouth and a straight nose. His molded dark brown hair looks okay. His face doesn't look that movie accurate to me; I actually prefer the playline Classic Prince. As with all Disney Prince dolls, he is sturdily built, and can free stand fairly stably. But for safe keeping, it is best to put him up in the included doll stand, which has a wide C-clamp that goes around his waist very snuggly.

The Prince's outfit is very well made and fitted to his body. It consists of a dark blue faux leather vest, a bright red velvet and satin cape with gold piping permanently attached at the shoulders of the vest, a dark blue faux leather belt with a gold metal buckle and a short black faux leather scabbard attached, white satin shirt, black pants and black boots with a worn look and creases. In the scabbard is a steel gray sword with a brown handle. The sword is thin and very flexible. It was slightly bent out of the box, but was easily bent back into shape. The D23 Prince's vest is much thicker, and feels much more like real leather than this Prince doll. But this Prince has an outfit that is much closer in color to the movie character. He looks great in his outfit, and very dashing, but I wish his expression had more emotion, and was more cheerful.

They're pretty much the same photo, but photo on the left has the black GTO in focus, while the photo on the right has the red GTO in focus. I thought I would create a diptych of this change between the photos

For this set of photos, I thought I did well, and focused on different parts of the car than I have been. There was a show that I didn't hear about until the morning, which I attended, and got the photos of the Ferraris and of the Lamborghini. The show was in the rain, which greatly helped me. I was able to take more general photos, but with the rain, it greatly enhanced the photo differences. Also, this week, I took the initiative of doing the diptych of the detail shots when different objects in the photos are in focus. The cars in the photo are 2 599 GTOs, which enhances the photo, showing the front side, and the front. I thought it was a good week, and got to do new things this week.

Per "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" tradition, the show's bus blocked the family's view of the house until host Ty Pennington, the family and 1,000 supporters shouted, "Move that bus!" Greeted by 1,000 supporters, the builders and the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" crew, the Keefer family returned to their Newberry Township home, which is renovated and features a connected wing for son Brian Keefer, on Sunday, June 26, 2011. The Stars at Night

Happy Friday night! The last few weeks have come and gone surprisingly fast, so here's hoping time slows down just a bit for the weekend.

After several failed attempts at star fields I finally got one to work. It's not great by any means, but I was happy that you could at least see the trails and everything was in focus. It has quite a bit of noise but that doesn't really bother me...they look like far away stars! And seeing as though this took me until midnight and I had no other pictures today it was either this or nothing.

This is only two 30 minute exposures, stacked in photoshop. I had a third but it was ruined by camera shake at some point in the exposure. Now that I know I can do it, I'll try for a longer and hopefully much better one later in the year.

Tumblers and mugs in the new Disney Villains Classic Collection

As of June 29, 2012.

The Disney Store has unveiled a new Disney Villains franchise, in late June 2012, with lots of merchandise. It includes the subset Disney Villains Designer Collection, with Limited Editon 12'' Dolls and various other merchandise.

One of my favourite Dinky Toys modelcars. Produced by Meccano Tri-Ang from 1968 to 1971, copied by Éditons Atlas. Matra M 530 also by Märklin (#1860, D 1970, nice body but with ugly speedwheels), Norev Plastigam (#143, F 1968) Norev-Hachette (Voitures Francaises #44, CN 2004), Mont Blanc (1:18, Plastic model, ´filoguidée´ ofr ´radioguidée´, F 1969). A currant model in 1:43 scale is produced by Solido (#143215, CN 2009).
