Here is a new edited version thanks to the help and advice from flickr members of areas being a little dark. Special thank you to Barbara (Belincs) for actually telling me how to do it
Sorry people its smoke again...
I am trying to keep to a subject simply as for me I find I learn more keeping to a subject the old saying “jack of all trades but a master of nothing”. But for this year I have decided to become maybe not a master but more competent with my camera by shooting things I enjoy.
Today I took a series of shots of an Apple and Smoke but after viewing over and over again I decided this was the one I was most happy with, and the one I could relate too. After viewing and viewing I found something close to my heart and I am sure other parents will relate. I found that unconditional love we have for our children and if you look at the image you can see the heart (the apple) and if you look up you can see a child facing away from the screen with its arms stretched out wide looking for the comfort/protection only a parent can give. A simple reminder to me how precious life is.
This was one shot of the smoke and apple together and then mirrored in PS and a gradient layer added

I'm uploading this for a discussion in the portfolio pro group... Just showing what the original RAW file looks before applying contrast & brightness settings to it. This is ONLY adjusting RAW settings, I don't think I edited this version in pshop. (Final version has a darker background, from the same image, which is pshopped.)

Juvenile Tiercel peregrine (male peregrine falon). Full grown but less than a year old, still has his brown juvenile plumage. Will eventually have a blue-grey back.
Here's another shot from "mini micro 4/3 mall photo walk" last weekend while I was waiting on my wife's car at the window tint shop. As I was walking through the mall, I figured a quick trip in to the Disney store would be a good warm up for our upcoming Disneyland trip. I'm still getting used to this little Olympus camera, but so far it has been a ton of fun to soot with and the images are great. I think it will be a very nice addition to my travel kit!
