On. They're a bit brighter than I expected - 40 watts. The big ones that I wanted were 18 watt equivalent.
My own version of a Edison dekstop lamp. I came upon a plasticky torsion pendulum clock knock off and stripped it down for parts. The "gold" foot was spray painted black and the porcelain lamp base copper.
The threaded inserts were made of brass, so they were too soft to screw into the hard wood without them breaking, so we had to screw them in upside down using the screw to insert them.
This vintage brass Governor paraffin blowlamp has been beautifully upcycled into a vintage Edison industrial style table lamp. This lamp would look great as a statement piece in a livingroom, bedroom, office, bar, restaurant, or any other area.
John Shaw & Sons (makers of the Governor brand) were a British tool and engineering company dating from 1667 to 1973 in Wolverhampton, England.
This vintage blowlamp has the Governor trade mark logo and has been fitted with metal antique style lamp fittings with a 40w vintage LED filament Edison style light bulb, creating a lovely warm glowing light with a gold tint. These Edison style LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs, and have up to 30,000 hours lifespan.
The lamp is also fitted with a vintage style brown braided flex cable with an inline switch, a metal antique style cord grip, and a 3amp British plug. All fittings are genuine British parts, all hand-wired to a high, professional standard.
To give this upcycled vintage blowlamp added weight and stability, it has been secured to a plinth made from an old piece of distressed wood
