...where have we heard that before? Yet, the light is on, but nobody....

– John 1:5

I had seen this the other day from the view of my car window as I hurriedly drove by. Today, before the leaves have all but disappeared, I decided to stop and photograph it. Something about the string of lights, the yellow leaves and the dark blue sky beckoned to be noticed.

Happy Fall y'all. ;)

Radiant of incandsent lamp core.

Using extension tube, dimer regular control, Filament bulb.

edison bulb

When I was trying to capture 'untitled 176', since the bulb was 60w (too bright), I had to aim the moment when the glowing was disappearing when I turned the 'on and off' knob. But this time, I failed to do so. So the camera captured the bulb with full brightness. That's why the bulb itself got washed out leaving the shape of it. And the filament of the bulb was seen outside of it!! I cannot figure out how the filament ended up being like that though...very interesting...

Not a soul to be seen in the Byward Market. The weather must've had something to do with it.

Almost every lightbulb in my house is a smart bulb, which can be controlled using an app on my phone or any of our Google home devices. Even this Edison bulb is a smart bulb. Not only do I get the benefits of voice activation from anywhere in the house and a lovely glow from my vintage 20's lamps (see comments), but smart bulbs are LEDs, making them highly efficient, using much less energy than incandescent bulbs.

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

It's early in the morning

I'm laughing at the sun, mm

My mirror dissappoints me, yeah

Am I the only one?

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is you, smiling

At me, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is life, love, with you

I think I'm getting closer

But the scenery's the same, yeah

Am I a disappointment?

I'll blame it on the pain, it's

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is you, smiling

At me, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is life, love, with you

Oh, all I need is you is all I need if you can simply believe in me and we will be forever

Together

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is you, smiling

At me, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is you, smiling

At me, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is you, smiling

At me, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

All I need, all, all I need

Is life, love, with you

shot this last week for the 365 community theme "home sweet home".. but for some reason didn't upload it. the light fixture that sits over our dining room table. modeled after the original edison bulb. really cool.. but it actually only good for mood lighting. which i suppose is fine.. i don't really need to see what i am eating that closely anyway ;)

was searching for some non-flower-keh for today... HBW to you all!

*off to go for a bit of a hike.. will visit with you all this evening ;)

The granite kitchen counter-top also offers an interesting reflection of our new ceiling fixture with the LED Edison bulbs. The 3000K modern bulb with the retro look gives lots of warm light to our kitchen.

Testing my 1980's Tamron 80-210mm 103a Adaptall 2 model lens on my Sony a6000. I'm loving it all over again!

Built by New Albany, Ohio Artist Michael Hartman.

Imagine the night time ambiance with the National Gallery of Canada in the background lit up, along with those Edison bulbs.

The sun was hanging lower in the sky, it was cold, and I dropped my camera on the pavement causing a massive crack to the plastic body. This was the first shot after the accident, surprisingly, I was able to finish the pack of film. Talk about a robust build!

Focus is on the center tube in the bulb. F stop 2.0

Shot with want seems that will be my new favorite lens. The Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D

I like Edison light bulbs and because they are considered 'decorative', they do not fall into the mandate to rid the world of incandescent bulbs. I love the filaments inside, but they are rather delicate and break easily.
