Playing around with the sb600, which has gotten more difficult since Jack has taken to giving it occasional kisses depending on where I place it.

another night in the Victoria Tunnel

For Sliders Sunday this week, I revisited the Bodleian Old Library in Oxford, processing an image taken in February. I’ve tried cooking this subject before (see Academic Ectoplasm ) but I rather like the lines and colours with the central window so I thought it was worthy of another attempt with a different image.

The image was an in-camera multiple exposure using Darken blend mode. It’s a combination of two ICMs with horizontal and vertical movements to emphasise the structural lines of the building and its window.

I’ll post two versions (and the original in-camera image in the first comment). The first is a ‘plain’ edit though not entirely plain as it’s lightly mangled in Nik Color Efex, mainly to emphasise the people as well as the building’s structure.

In contrast, though, is the second version for Sliders Sunday. This is using the same Nik plugin to create an extreme version using solarisation and bicolour filters, amongst others. The solarisation has inverted the luminosity so we get a nighttime image effect. The result seems quite surreal and otherworldly to me.

Took two pictures of Sasha staring seemingly blankly into space and both came out with this mist/ectoplasm which was not at all visible to my eye!

I used inbuilt flash and don't know if there is some technical explanation

ORBS

Orbs are a popular term for the anomalous spheres that appear on photos. In spanish it is commonly called canoplas. In cameras and video orbs appear as balls, gems or light spheres with image sizes such as golf balls to basketball. Orbs are believed to be ghostly sightings by psychics or people who have the ability to see the unseen realms. Some people are able to see orbs with the naked eye, this is because of talent or with practice.

ECTOPLASM

Ectoplasm (from Greek ektos, meaning "outside" and plasma, which means "something formed or printed") is a term coined by Charles Richet to show a substance or spiritual energy "exteriorized" by the physical medium. Is the word associated with the formation of ghosts, and confirms being a possible factor in psychokinesis.

Ectoplasma is said to be produced by a physical medium when in a trance state. This material is removed as gauze material such as from holes in the body of the media and spiritual entities are said to be mixed with these non-physical bodies, allowing them to interact in our physical universe.

Ectoplasm, it can be explained briefly the stage of appearance that is higher than smoke-shaped orbs and captured using a digital camera. Allegedly the stage of ghost appearance in this condition has a higher energy level. Visibly Ectoplasm manifested like a shadow or like a white smoke that could appear and disappear in an instant

VORTEX

Vortex, this stage of emergence is even more evident almost perfectly resembling certain creatures. At this stage the embodiment of the genie is like a shadow, but the shape of the shadow resembles a creature such as a human, or animal, or certain creature

MANIFEST

At this stage, jinns / ghosts have revealed forms that resemble certain forms of creatures, such as humans but have buffalo heads. Only the appearance is adjusted to the level of strength / energy and in accordance with the genie or genie, because this will affect the results of the images we get.
