Spot the blurry echo of a blue tit behind the nuthatch ...

We stopped at Gibside NT on the way up to Northumberland today and had to do a bit more bird photography! Lucky enough to see another Great Spotted Woodpecker, a nuthatch, a variety of tits and a treecreeper amongst many others ... a good day. Off to the pub now :-)

Echo Blue, Celastrina echo echo, nectaring on my Shiro plum. Not the best shot for ID, but a nice one of the plum blossom.

Only the scientific name tag was added by me! Hate the generic tags!

This is the second Echo coming together, this one will be designed around use with my synth. I decided the other one would be better for instruments and organ use. I'm giving it a CV in over the delay time and front mounted I/O along with the slant cabinet for easier access.

A long exposure photograph of Echo Amphitheater in New Mexico. The clouds draw the viewer directly into the echo part of the Amphitheater. It is a fun and easy hike – you should try it sometime.

L’ensemble Musica Nova présente un programme inédit mêlant musique ancienne et création contemporaine. Fruits d’une richesse linguistique et culturelle impressionnante, les musiques d’Europe du Sud, du Maghreb, du Proche-Orient ou de Byzance seront invitées à s’unir le temps d’une rencontre. L’œuvre commandée à Saed Haddad, compositeur originaire de Jordanie, tentera de mettre au jour une harmonie entre les polyphonies du Moyen Âge et les monodies chantées par Anass Habib, chanteur marocain, accompagnées par le qanun d’Aurélie Tissot. La rencontre avec Anass Habib est déterminante dans l’élaboration de ce projet, du fait de son enracinement dans la culture traditionnelle marocaine et son désir d’explorer toutes les musiques de la Méditerranée au-delà des multiples confessions. Le mythe de Babel suscite dans l’imaginaire des hommes une profonde fascination. Dépasser ses limites et sa condition terrestre, construire plus haut et s’élever spirituellement est peut-être l’aspiration la plus partagée des mortels. Les cathédrales gothiques du Moyen Âge en témoignent. La musique elle aussi n’échappe pas à ce désir de produire des œuvres aux proportions démesurées. C’est ce qui avait conduit les hommes, à Babel, à accorder leurs forces dans toute leur diversité. L’œuvre ainsi créée s’inscrira dans une volonté de construire, au-delà des différences linguistiques et musicales, un édifice respectueux des richesses et des diversités.
