Easy linen shirt from the book Sewing for boys, in fleece with canguru pocket. Blogged here: viraventos.blogspot.pt/2012/03/easy-linen-shirt.html

Algo de wild a los tiempos!

It's official. I am addicted to knitting socks! Something had to take the place of the seed stitch hat! These were made with Austermann Step yarn in the Easy colourway a 75% wool and 25% nylon blend. I used the basic sock pattern from Cat Bordhi's Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles. Started on January 6, 2011, completed February 5th, 2011 on 2.5mm and 2mm needles.

The photo is an homage to my dear friend Terri's greyhound Sabrina. That dog could model socks, mittens, hats, you name it! She will be missed.

First time I've been on one of these since the passport fuck-up. Meh. At least I managed to avoid them on the way out to Spain.

And so ends the 2G13 holiday~

While some kids tried to sell us mugs, this entrepreneur set up a pay to shoot business. Seems like he found a winner...

#AbFav_FUN_and_SMILES_😍

My mama said I was born smiling, now that makes me smile, happy about that!

LOL often I smile without realising it, only when people smile back at me.

It comes easy, is free and gets responses, try it!

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments! M, (* _ *)

A recent brunch visit with the in-laws as Easy. It takes almost as long for us to get there on TTC as it takes them to drive from Waterloo.

This is the trail map that I found on the Kooteny Mountain Bike Associations website, to work in tandem with the awesome map that Bryce gave me.

This trail truly deserves the IMBA "Epic/Must Ride" designation that it's received. I can't even fathom the amount of time and energy that has gone into the creation of this trail. Although the uphills are brutal (but what uphill isn't?), I can totally see how they would be an XC riders dream. A bike with a lower front end and higher bottom bracket would have been perfect for the climbs, but mine was about as perfect as I could imagine for the downhills sections.

I also think that it's amazing how they've built the trail to be completely rideable in both directions. Anything I rode up would have been so much fun to go down, and everything I rode down would have been rideable back up.

I would recommend this trail in a heartbeat to pretty much any rider I know, as it really does have something that caters to everyone (minus the dirtjump/street only riders).

That being said, now that I've done the whole thing, I have little desire to do it again in one go without a few changes:

1. I would do it about a month earlier in the year so there's less likely hood of bears being up there, without being as hot as July.

2. I would not do it alone (because I'm infinitely less paranoid about bears in a group). Also, you need a minimum of two people for Adrenaline Adventures to shuttle you.

3. I'd shuttle it.

4. I'd do it more slowly, take more water and more food.

At no point did I ever feel like I was riding at more than a comfortable pace, and I took a million pictures/snack breaks, but I still went trailhead to trailhead in 5 hours and 20 minutes, plus an hour and a half climb out of town in the morning and a 30 minute cruise back at the end.

If I was a local, (without having access to a helicopter), I'd probably do what the three other people I met on the trail did -> shuttle to the North Trailhead, push to Plewman and then either continue to descend on Plewman, or ride till Old Glory and take that out. Every day. Because it was that good.
