Nganjuk is a part of East Java regency. Nganjuk is also the central
town between East Java and Mid Java, it is been known as "Windy Town".
It was half century ago, the Chinese people in this town was Kong Hu Cu. unfortunately, there were not such appropriate temple to go to. The only thing left was the altar for The Honor of Kongco Tik Tjoen Ong, which was in China Gathering Hall, today's known as Dr. Soetomo Street, Nganjuk. Even though the condition of the temple was inappropriate, the Parish was large enough.
Mr. Soen Boen Lee is one of the parishes who always come to pray to the temple. Since he is praying at the temple he feels many graces come into his life, and he feels so blessed and much more prosperity come into his business. Those facts makes The Honor of Kongco Kong Tik Tjoen Ong largely become more famous and attract many more people to come, both from outside or inside the town. This hilarious cannot stay any longer for the temple is not enough to hold the people.
The main existence of the temple is a place to pray and put the statue which symbolizing the Man who’s having great influence for the people indeed. Moreover, it having purpose to memorize the contributions from those Man, in order to be good example for the people nowadays.
The People who come to the temple is consist of some religion, that is why this temple been called as Tri Darma "Hok Yoe Kiong" Sukomoro- Nganjuk. The uniqueness from this temple, where it can't be found from any other temple, there is a pile of earth about 1 meter in one of the room. It been said that the pile was refers to the ant, on the altar written "Ya Ong" or "King of Ant".
Hok Yoe Kiong in Sukomoro, Nganjuk, is not big enough, but it builds on the road margin near with the train station, beside the Sukomoro district office and traditional market, where is the central of Nganjuk Onion. The visitors who come to this temple is not only from local area, but it also come from outside town, especially Surabaya. This thing makes the founder of this temple, Soen Boen Lee and the family feels so happy. Nowadays, the management for this temple is not only come from Tri Darma, but also come from Moslem, Catholic and Christian. They are invited to join in order to maintain this temple. The leader of this temple nowadays is Mr. Teguh who’s got the honor from the people until the temple shown its movement. Socially, this temple has also taking apart in Leong art and Barong Sai, which use the player from local inhabitant. Moreover about sport, in every Sunday morning there are always Early Exercise on the temple for the people around Sukomoro and Nganjuk.

Mount Batok is a dormant/inactive volcanic mountain located in the Tengger Caldera, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java, Indonesia. Together with Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru, the trio forms a lovely natural scene especially if viewed from another mountain, Mount Penanjakan.
Mount Batok stands at 2440m tall and is one of the tourist attactions in East Java. It is often mistaken for its active volcano cousin, Mount Bromo, located just to the left of it.
Visitors can choose to take a scenic walk on the "Whispering" sea of sand or ride a horse (for a fee of course!) to Mount Bromo.

above is edelweiss flower according to the local people in Bromo - Tengger National Park, edelweiss has 3 colours : Purple, Pink ( maroon ) and white. But during the trekking I just find this type is most interesting than others. Tiny, wild and beautiful ^_^

Overshadowed by Mt Bromo (2,392m) that constantly oozing hot sulphuric gases, and by Mt Semeru (3,676m) in the far horizon which coughs out hot ashes every 1/2 hour on average, Mt Batok is often regarded as a side attraction that completes the spectacular set of volcanoes in the ancient Tengger Caldera (Bromo, Batok and Kursi).
Nonetheless, to me, the mountain is extremely unique. Just like Mt Bromo or Mt Kursi, this perfectly shaped mountain rises from the Sea of Sands. Hence, despite being measured close to 8,000-ft above sea level, it doesn't look that tall. In fact, from the base, its peak can seem to be conquered in a heartbeat.
Mt Batok, just like most volcanoes, is of brown volcanic cone. But the similarity ends here. In recent times, the mountain has witnessed some growth of vegetation that gives it a breathtaking hues of meadow green and yellow. I could not ascertain when was the last time the volcano erupted, but it has to be many years or centuries ago. Its slopes are very unique if you inspect closely - alternating ravines and crevices patched by dark and light green, and muddy brown features.

It's really hard when a mixture of sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide and other equally unpleasant gasses blowing...... *cough..cough..*
Despite the risks (i.e fatality from sulphur inhalation, minor eruptions and deteriorating bones and muscles) the miners are envied by others in their villages. They earn more than those who work in agriculture and they get paid in daily basis (as opposed to every 2 weeks). As of June 2006, the rate is Rp 400/kg (about 4 cents USD) for carrying the slabs of sulfur up and down the strenuous crater and hill. If they do 1 run for the weight between 70-90 kgs they pocket USD 3-4/day. The stronger ones can make it twice a day. Due the nature of the work and human's physical limitations, most miners only work every other day (15 days/month).
