Easter eggs. I spent all the time I got up before the rest of the family with setting up the camera to capture my son's easter egg hunt - as he's 11 probably one of the last times he's doing this. Flash, figuring out what lens to use, setting up white balance - the whole lot.
Wake up the family - ready to go! And then my wife asks "honey could you make me some coffee please". By the time I came back from the coffee machine all the eggs were scooped up and opened...
Easter Morning Ride – 4/8/12
Another great year and another great ride. The weather was absolutely perfect for the quick jaunt up Mt Tam from Tam Junction.
This fine tradition was started in the mid-70’s by Mean Marshall. As the story goes, he and several buddies were out partying all night and well into the morning. For reasons unknown, he thought it a great idea to ride to the top of Mt Tam to take in the sunrise (because, ya’ know, sleep is over-rated). In those days, there wasn’t a gate on the road and the state park was open 24/7.
A tradition was born. Originally a Brit bike ride, it has developed into the current anything goes. I believe someone from the SFMC arranges for the park rangers to open the gates early to let us up. Whoever does it – THANKS! And thanks to the Park Rangers for getting up way too early to let a bunch of crazy bikers watch the sunrise.
We took advantage of the Fee-Free Weekend at National Parks to have an Easter Picnic at Prince William Forest National Park.

We spent Easter in Flinders, Victoria, a lovely little hamlet on the Mornington Peninsula. The good folks at Mornington Chocolates hooked us up solid on the day.

Sunday 20 April 2014: Naughty, but nice
Being diabetic, I don't usually celebrate Easter Sunday with chocolate (unless some kind friend buys me a diabetic chocolate egg). Today's celebration is nearly as naughty, but with far fewer calories (or at least that's what I'm told!). I shall enjoy it later with a nice warm drink, as it is so cold here today. Happy Easter everyone!
