Nikon F4 with Konica Minolta DNG 200 negative film. Scanned on my Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV scanner. This scanner has no ICE feature to remove the dust and scratches.
Taken at the Al Shamal Church Easter Event 2010.
I have replaced these food pictures with less "green" versions. I think my home monitor is a little off.
Goal: create a piece that looks good as a whole piece and can be altered for each specific event during the easter season [ 40 days, good friday, easter ]
Audience: community families
Direction: Would like to go in a "banner" like feel direction. I think I'd be able to transition each specific piece well while keeping the banners. I'm looking for help with typography and something to take it to the next level.
Project: Easter 2012 overall piece.

I actually made a couple of Easter cards this year. I had a cute spring set of dies from Coco and Reno that I wanted to use. I cut them out of Bristol and water colored them. The background was done with alcohol inks and silver alcohol ink alloy.

On Saturday, April 8, 2023, Bishop David Walkowiak presided during Easter Vigil in the Holy Night at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Very Rev. Dat Tran, CSP, rector of the cathedral, and Associate Pastors Father Bill Edens, CSP, and Father Mike Cruickshank, CSP, concelebrated. Deacon Dennis Rybicki assisted.
The Vigil Mass included the Service of Light and catechumens and candidates of the parish were received into full communion with the Church. Across the diocese, 126 catechumens and 180 candidates were welcomed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. Catechumens received baptism, first holy Communion and confirmation. Candidates are already baptized and received both of the other two sacraments of initiation.

My friend, Heather, frequently hosts "cookie decorating parties" at her house. Today we went over to decorate Easter cookies. These were my favorites of my bunch.
Sunday night I held a competion between my longstanding Easter treat, the Cadbury Caramel Egg and a newcomer, the Dark Chocolate Marshmallow Peep. The winner and loser will be eaten by me. Assisting in the candy judging is a wine glass of Mount Gay rum. Who will be the winner? stay tuned over the next few days and see.
Making a first appearance is a new dress I got from Macy's. It is the same cut as the black multicolor one I got several weeks ago, but this one is green and blue on a white background.
The Easter egg is finished. I added a little Dichroic glass cabachon on the top. Seed beads in peyote stitch on plastic egg.
In 1985, we decided to take some of our family photos to send in Christmas cards when we all got dressed up the most. I made the sailor's dress/jacket for my daughter and found the matching colors/themed clothes for our son who turned 1 yr. old on Easter that year. (My brother/sister-in-law had given us some other matching sailor suits but I returned them and found/made ones I liked better)

The Easter week at Shree Peetha Nilaya was as eventful as it was blessed. The spirit of Christ and His Love was ever-present among the many devotees gathered to observe the full days of prayers and services. It was a week of joy and happiness, insight and inspiration, but most importantly, a week of family and unity in the name of the Divine!
