Arts for Learning Early Learning Teaching Artists participated in a week-long professional development course with Master Teaching Arts from Wolf Trap. During this 40-hour course, artists learned to develop and lead developmentally appropriate lessons for our youngest learners—babies and toddlers—using song, music, puppetry, and movement.

A new $3.4 million provincial investment in B.C.'s Success By 6 early childhood development program put smiles on everyone's faces at a celebration event at the North Cariboo Aboriginal Family Program Society (Quesnel). This year's funding will go toward community-based programs across the province dedicated to providing children with a strong foundation of emotional, social, cognitive and physical skills before they enter school.

New child care legislation is building on the strong foundation that will bring an inclusive, universal early learning and child care system to BC families.

The introduction of the early learning and child care (ELCC) act and the early childhood educators (ECEs) act recaptures the momentum of the original BC Child Care Act introduced in 1996 to begin building an accessible, affordable, quality, inclusive child care system.
