We enjoyed Automotive Rhythms’ last media trip of the year with industry friends and Kia executives, who allowed us to experience firsthand the all-electric EV6 GT, the most powerful production vehicle the company has ever built. The dual motor e-AWD setup consists of a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, a 160kW front motor, and a 270kW rear motor for a total system output of 576-horsepower and 545 lb.-ft. of torque. The $61,400 EV6 GT with AWD elevates the brand’s performance stature to a higher degree as it accelerates 0-to-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Are you ready for silent gallops across runways and “Movement that Inspires” from Kia’s electric performance perspective? We certainly are!

Developed from the ground up as a fully-electric truck on GM’s advanced Ultium EV Platform, the Silverado EV offers a combination of capability, performance and versatility, along with advanced technologies that can evolve the vehicle over time. In spring 2023, the Silverado EV will debut a WT model offering a large range battery with an expected GM-estimated range of over 400 miles on a full charge. In the fall of 2023, a fully loaded RST First Edition model, also including a 400-mile range, will debut with an MSRP of $105,000 + DFC. After production ramps up, Chevrolet will unleash the full Silverado EV portfolio including WT with a starting at MSRP of $39,900 + DFC, RST, Trail Boss and more with the ability to content the truck across various price ranges, with MSRPs around $50,000, $60,000, $70,000, $80,000 and more. This will allow customers to choose the truck that meets their capability and pricing needs.

The RAM 1500 Revolution Concept is here with 3D printed sideview mirrors, saloon opening doors, a multifunction tailgate, illuminated RAM grille, fold flat rear seats, and a power midgate to open up the “one space” environment. RAM consumers can carry more, store larger items, and utilize augmented reality and digitization for conveniences. Additional amenities include a glass roof, 28” screen, a hide away steering wheel, seamless connectivity, apple leather (the fruit), AWD, 4-wheel steering, and an adjustable air suspension. Mary Douglas, the British anthropologist, famously defined dirt as matter that is out of place: when seen in a garden it is valuable, but on one's steps or in one's bathtub it is unwanted. She was taking the idea of "a place for everything and for every thing a place" that is widely believed in hierarchical social life. Now looking at the discarded scooters and bikes for rent with smartphone apps, such as this one, that famous quote comes to mind. When seeing them lined up in the curbside liveries inside the wide painted lines, the electric convenience is slightly futuristic (what would a pre-Internet, pre-mobile phone person think when a rider tapped a glassy handheld device to register and pay, then zoom away). But seeing the things in the morning cluttering up the paths and edges of roads when the wheeled machines end up discarded after the rental period ends or the rider closes the service the night before, then these are a kind of "dirt" (matter that is out of place).

Even in small towns and villages, a large proportion of the population can cover 60 per cent of their journeys without their own car because the distances are less than eight kilometres. Pedelecs offer additional possibilities, especially when the distances are longer than five kilometres, differences in altitude have to be overcome or loads have to be transported. Whether urban or rural, less than five percent of paths are longer than 50 kilometres and less than two percent are longer than 100 kilometres.

Better Place elbil ladestander. E.ON Storsatsar på den danska elbilsmarknaden - köper 770 laddstolpar.
Den tyska energikoncernen E.ON köper alla 770 laddstolpar som ingår i konkursboet efter det danska elbilsprojektet Better Place. Hälften av laddstolparna finns i Storköpenhamn medan övriga finns i andra större danska städer.Genom affären inleder E.ON Danmark en storsatsning på elbilar som går under namnet e-Mobility. I slutet av september kommer laddstolparna att tas i drift och tidigare kunder till Better Place kommer då att erbjudas möjlighet att koppla in sina elbilar igen. De stationer för byte av batterier som ingick i Better Place ingår inte i affären med E.ON Danmark.Inom några få år väntas antalet elbilar öka kraftigt i Danmark. Region Huvudstaden invigde i somras sin satsning Copenhagen Electric med målet att 12 000 elbilar ska rulla på vägarna i Storköpenhamn år 2015. I dagsläget finns det knappt 1 500 elbilar i hela Danmark. Även den föreslagna danska klimatplanen väntas innebära satsningar på elbilar. Planen har bland annat som mål att minska de danska CO2-utsläppen med 40 procent fram till 2020. (News Øresund)

Electric cars are cheaper than their reputation. In the calculation model, the experts calculated and compared the total costs of three mid-range cars with electric drive, petrol and diesel engines. The result: the electric car is the cheapest of all three in the purchase year 2020. The scientists took into account the purchase premium, the energy costs including the CO2 prices for petrol and diesel from 2021, the insurance and vehicle tax, workshop costs and the expected depreciation.
