On 6 March 2018, the UN CC:Learn global partners met in Geneva, Switzerland for the 8th UN CC:Learn Steering Group Meeting. Partners from FAO, ILO, IOM, UN Environment, UNECA, UNESCO, UNFCCC, UNITAR, UNSSC, UNU, WFP, WTO participated to discuss the arrangements for the 2017-2020 phase of UN CC:Learn, launched on September 2017.
The meeting focused on UN CC:Learn’s key messages and impact. New activities to promote global climate change literacy were also discussed, including the expansion of the e-learning platform with additional features, languages and products, as well as up-scaling of UN CC:Learn flagship initiatives.

E-learning is yet to become the large scale method of training teachers in the educational field. When compared with the traditional methods of training teachers, e-learning has the merits shown below:
1Low Cost: E-learning is far cheaper than traditional methods of teaching because of no use of paper and pencil and with the reduced expense of teacher training. Even Kids can buy electronic project kits online for their project references, engineering students buy engineering project kits online and also buy science project kits in India.
2Flexible: E-learning can be carried out anywhere without strict time boundations. It leads to a more flexible environment for students.
3Personalization: Unlike traditional teaching practices in e-learning the training material is not chosen by teacher or some organization and can help students to obtain their own requirement of knowledge. For more information visit www.prayogindia.in/
VIRTLANTIS is a free resource and open community of practice for language learners and teachers in the virtual world of Second Life®. We offer free informal language learning activities for a growing number of languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, etc. All of our activities are offered free of charge by volunteer language teachers and/or native speakers.
Everyone is welcome to offer a language activity at VIRTLANTIS. We provide free resources and ongoing support. We also collaborate with and promote other language communities in Second Life.
In addition to our main island and the various social meeting points at Knowingly, we have additional locations which can be used when needed.

The resource center will be equipped with low cost computer system called a raspberry pi invented by Cambridge, solar power and android tablets to deliver massive free e-learning library named RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) by World Possible that consists of 6000 articles, 26 million words and 50,000 images that include over 3 thousands of textbooks (K-12) and over 2 thousand videos, the entire Khan academy.
