We were on our way to the Serpentine Gallery to see the new outdoor art installation (don't bother, it's rubbish) and as we were walking down Exhibition Road we passed the Imperial College building, that was having an open day. Most of the buildings were open to the public and they didn't mind you taking photos!
This staircase is from the Dyson School of Design Engineering, which is one of the newer buildings on the campus.
I've put together a map of spiral staircases in London. If you look at this Google Map you can see the one's I'm aware of. If you've got any that you know of that aren't on the map and you like them added then send me a Flickr mail with the details and I'll add it.
92014 was in full 'Snap, Crackle and Pop' mode as it past Belton this morning with a diverted Caledonian Sleeper heading for the Capital. A promising dawn full of colour had quickly faded away in the minutes before it arrived with only hint of Orange left in the morning sky at 6am

Not the motive power I was expecting, but maybe I'm a bit out of touch.

A shot of Marble taken tonight through the Dyson cold blower - he was lying there keeping cool. I took this shot to get the nice reflection framed by the Dysons upper section.

The year is 2153. The fourth world war has ended for a few years, and the Syndicate Of Furnitures and Home Appliances savor it’s victory against the Free Consumers Alliance.
To control the suburban areas, the SOFHA dispatched the Dyson AM97-X, a hovercraft powered by the Air Multiplier technology™. Fast and agile, it was also noiseless, making it a dreadful enemy for the FCA.
Rest In Peace: Freeman Dyson
(12/15/1923 - 02/28/2020)
In 1960 Dyson wrote a short paper for the journal Science titled "Search for Artificial Stellar Sources of Infrared Radiation". In it he speculated that a technologically advanced extraterrestrial civilization might surround its native star with artificial structures to maximize the capture of the star's energy. Eventually the civilization would enclose the star, intercepting electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths from visible light downward and radiating waste heat outward as infrared radiation. One method of searching for extraterrestrial civilizations would be to look for large objects radiating in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
One should expect that, within a few thousand years of its entering the stage of industrial development, any intelligent species should be found occupying an artificial biosphere which surrounds its parent star.

I paired my Dyson Heater to my iPad. The Dyson measures the inside and outside temperature and humidity. I can also see if the Hepa Filter will need to be changed.. It's great to see what's going on remotely. Technology is amazing!
Built for J&A with Dyson Commander equipment, then to Autotec. Now with BDV on roadworks recovery on the A63 Hull seen enjoying the autumnal Yorkshire sunshine rise.
