A session in t'shed and some bits of stainless sheet later. J-B Weld and some M3 screws hold the plot together. The M6 screw is clamping the sides firmly in; it is the same thread as the mounting screw.

Steve's friend Rich is in town for a few days, and he and I went to Dynamo Donuts yesterday morning. For once, I was there when their full menu for the day was available, instead of mid-afternoon when they've run out of half the flavors. Rich got a bacon one and a caramel one, and I finally got to try the banana de leche (filled with banana slices and dulce de leche). Mine wasn't terribly photogenic, but it was tasty.
