went to the nocturne series today (http://www.nocturneseries.com/smithfield/) at smithfields market. great event

The mascot of the Houston Dynamo came out to visit the library and gave a great program for the children. He gave out free T-shirts and really pumped up some enthusiasm for the Dynamo team!

I love my dynamo lights! No batteries! And they're so bright!

An exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. I am normally not a big fan of modern art but this exhibit was very interesting and even fascinating.

Nordlicht dynamo wheel after a couple of winters and a good few miles. No web shops in the UK seemed to have them so I got replacements eventually from www.dutchbikebits.com/

It would probably last a bit longer, but I'd sooner not have to replace it by the roadside in the dark. The wheel hub had rusted a little outside the "tyre" so I cleaned it up and wiped a little grease on the non-tyre surfaces. I still like the dynamo, it is miles better than the cheap things one can buy, like the old Miller type I used to have years ago.

This is an idea for a pretty basic bicycle dynamo taillight with a standlight. It is intended to be connected in parallel with the headlight, with an input voltage of 8 to 9 volts.

I've run some simulations on it, but have not built it. It is pretty simple though.. Adjust R3 to change the current through the LEDs. Adjust R2 and C1 to change how long the standlight runs (and how long it will take to charge the standlight).

Take out one pair of parallel LEDs if the headlight voltage is less than 8v.
