Herman Ihlenburg's Dynamo is closely related to Fillet, which he patented in July–September 1890 [USPTO D20169]. By February 1891, he had also designed Dynamo and applied for the patent; it was issued in early March [USPTO D20547]. Rights to both were assigned to MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan.

"Dynamo House" is what's on the sign, but the building appears empty (at Eddy and South Streets, on the west side of the river). This was shot across the river. When I later drove past on Eddy St., I saw that the gate was open and I was tempted to explore -- but was on a time limit.
This is a three-image composite, since I couldn't fit everything into one frame. I stitched them with Microsoft ICE and performed slight alterations in Photoshop.
Also, I'm aware this is overexposed... I was going for the ability to see inside instead of just black arches.

Taken during my second "walkabout" of the day in Providence, R.I., while my wife and children were at the Providence Children's Museum. This one was entirely on the east side of Providence River.
