Throughout time, catastrophic geologic events have been a constant on Earth. They have changed the face of the planet, altered human history and caused significant ecological change. Discover the world’s hotspots for earthquakes and volcanoes through the interactive map "The Dynamic Planet,” maintained by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. The map is part of the larger site "The Dynamic Earth,” which offers videos, photos and text for an even deeper understanding of the powerful realm of plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes.
I like the flat pattern this picture has while still having tension in the rusty nails and staples shoved into the wood.
I wanted to capture the tension of the fingers and hands on my own hand, and also the wrinkles of my jacket.

How successful is your color choices in working to create space?
i think my color choices create space very well, they turned out brighter than anticipated but i think the remaining wide range and contrast my colors create resulted in good space throughout the design.
U.S. Army Reserve International Combat Team shooter engages enemy targets during a Dynamic Pistol Lane as part of the 2015 Canadian Armed Forces Small Arms Concentration at the Connaught Range outside of Ottawa, Canada, Sept. 16. The international marksmanship competition lasted roughly two weeks, bringing in more than 250 total competitors from the British, Canadian and U.S. armed forces competing in more than 30 matches involving rifle, pistol and light machine gun events using various combat-like movements and scenarios. Dynamic Position Systems (DPS), use multiple thrusters controlled by a central computer to maintain the precise position of a ship or floating platform.
Computers monitor wind speed, currents, wave activity, along with the pitch, roll, and yaw of a ship to determine which thrusters will reduce motion of the platform and prevent currents from pushing the ship away. The thrusters are enormous, with up to 6,000 horsepower, and several of these devices are needed to maintain position for a single floating platform.
The Thrustmaster Portable Dynamic Positioning System even has a portable DPS system that can be temporarily added to any ship, barge, yacht, or floating platform.
