Enjoyed shootng the Upper Antelope Canyons, Lower Antelope Canyons, and Horseshoe Bend in Page Arizona! Long story short, you can't go wrong!
The Sony A7r and the Nikon D810 have the same sensor! While the D810 saves the RAW in 14bit lossless compressed (or uncompressed0, the A7r performs a bit of lossy compression, which I have never noticed, but which some say they have!
At any rate, I am super excited for the Nikon's next
camera as well as for the recently announced Sony Alpha a7RII Mirrorless Digital Camera! Some highlights include a 42 MP Full-Frame Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor, a
BIONZ X Image Processor,
Internal UHD 4K Video & S-Log2 Gamma, and a
5-Axis SteadyShot INSIDE Stabilization system!
I'll be ordering mine for sure! And I have a feeling that Nikon will be releasing something epic soon--a 50mp+ camera with awesome dynamic range!
And important thing to remember is that even though pixel sizes keep getting smaller and smaller, the technology is advancing, so the smaller pixels are more efficient at collecting light. For instance, the Sony A7rII will be back-illuminated which allows more photons to hit the sensor. Semiconductor technology is always advancing, so the brilliant engineers are always improving the signal/noise ratio. Far higher pixel counts, as well as better dynamic ranger, are thus not only possible, but the future!
Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! I worked on phototranistors and photodiodes as well as an artificial retina for the blind. :)

After looking through my work,what do you think about Nikob vs. Sony? Do you prefer the Nikon D810 and Nikkor / Tamron / Sigma lenses /glass, or the Sony A7r and Sony Sonnar Carl Zeiss e-mount glass/lenses? I love them both! And I am so excited about the Sony A7rII !

Colourful kites with various patterns and designs float against a vibrant yellow background. Ribbons or tails in different shades add a dynamic and whimsical touch to the scene.
This aurora took quite a while to build up (fairly typical with a slow high density solar wind), but the climax was well worth waiting for, with an active rayed band that was difficult to catch in this 6 second exposure. Luckily I was also shooting video at the time.

NASA's International Sun-Earth Explorer C (ISEE C) was undergoing testing and evaluation inside Goddard Space Flight Center's dynamic test chamber when this photo was taken. Working inside a dynamic test chamber, Goddard engineers wear protective "clean room" clothing to prevent microscopic dust particles from damaging the sophisticated instrumentation. NASA launched the 16-sided polyhedron, which weighed 1,032 lbs. (469 kg.), from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on August 12, 1978. From its halo orbit 932,000 miles (1.5 million km.) from Earth, the satellite monitored the characteristics of solar phenomena about one hour before its companion satellites-ISEE-A and ISEE-B-observed the same phenomena from a much closer near-Earth orbit. The correlated measurements supported the work of 117 scientific investigators who were trying to get a better understanding of how the Sun controls Earth's near-space environment. The scientists represented 35 universities in 10 nations.

my friend got this as a gift & the packaging was so appealing I couldn't resist myself.
the spray bottle came within a large, handful size packet; showing the line of products coming with it on front & there is sport figure printed at the corner, kicking a ball, in black while the whole background was full of red-dots.
the picture was taken inside a room in the sunlight coming from the left-side window & right-side wide-opened gate.
Here I am again with my HDR!!! My usual walk at lunch time, when the other day I saw a delivery pink bike with a basket sweetly decorated with a garland of silk flowers!!

For the entire week I was amazed of the influence of lighting effect , dependent of time of day, here is a sample of bright sun effect on the rear and light grey on the nose, all these years we have ordered arctic white, but at least it was the new shade, as well an impressive robot painted type of excellence. style on our choice of the Grand Sport optioned 2019 edition. The Corvette Convention # 60 2019.
In January 1954, Union Pacific took delivery of 40 EMD GP9 units without dynamic braking (UP 205-244). No. 224 made an appearance in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 27, 1978.
