The Trinidad and Tobago Orchid Society had their annual show at Sando Tech on Saturday 26th April 2008 and Sundary 27th April 2008.
We went.
And here are the pictures I took.
There were not only orchids but also anthuriums, bonsais and random other stuff.
Mom and Dad, who have gone before, were not as wowed as they remember being before. They remember it being much bigger. Dad wondered if it's because we have so much orchids at home now that it takes some really stunning ones to amaze him.
I think it was nice. But I know it wasn't wowee. There were some nice interesting ones...but they weren't on sale.
We did buy four orchids and two herbs...but...Oh well. Eventually I will tell you which ones I liked...as I figure out their names (they weren't all labelled so I didn't bother) and I get time to make it through all the ones I uploaded.
Took this photo on 1st June in a friend's garden and kept avoiding posting it, as I'm not happy with it. Wherever I stood, I couldn't get a good composition - always part of another flower in the way. I have so much colour green on my photostream recently, so just wanted to add a splash of colour.
I am so late posting my photos today! I had been planning on totally collapsing yesterday after an insane week last week, out almost all the time and with barely any sleep. However, I ended up spending a few hours with my oldest daughter instead, some of them at Heritage Park here in the city. This evening, I fell asleep (more or less) sitting in front of the TV. Usually feel worse than ever when I do this, LOL. Now it's getting on for 10:00 p.m. and I still haven't had supper.

Warhammer, painted by moi! Even speaking French can't make up for how bad it is...
Shadow Viking, here's one. My camera turned out to be no good for this kind of thing, so I could only photograph these ones, but maybe some other day...

I think I bought this little shrub as "Dwarf Russian Almond" years ago. when you do a web search for dwarf almond, most of the pictures come up of "Prunus gladulosa" & that is a double so not this one. One photo of a single on one of the big picture agents is described as Dwarf Japanese cherry/Korean cherry/Japanese Almond etc so who knows. My garden today

I believe this to be a Dwarf Bearded Dragon, a long way from home, as I live in the mid notrh of South Australia and these are native to the west of Western Australia
A dwarf caiman sits incredibly still in its enclosure at The Shedd Aquarium's Amazon exhibit. Even though he's only about 24 inches, that eye is still pretty terrifying.

I used to have an office on Southside Industrial, just across the highway from the Dwarf House in Hapeville. I tried to get my boss to let me move my desk into the Dwarf House, but it was against corporate policy. I quit that job.

Flowers of the Dwarf Pawpaw (Asimina parviflora), a shrub or small tree found in the southeastern U.S. The flowers are much smaller than those of the Common Pawpaw, hence the alternate common name Smallflower Pawpaw. I encounter both species on my hikes in the piedmont of northern Georgia. Harbin Park, Gwinnett County, Georgia.
