This was built for the Lands of Classic Castle and continues the story about Paul von Brickenstein
When Paul von Brickenstein escaped his first thought was to get home as fast as he could. But when he reached the city of Durrough he met Dungrian and Duriel, who were on the run away from Lenfald. They told him that the city of Brickenstein was already conquered by the evil Queen's troops. So he decided to travel far west with his new fellows, to find a save city in the lands of Loreos.
They were on the road, always in fear of being ambushed by the Queen's soldiers, when suddenly there was a insurmountable barrickade at the street. A creepy scream made their blood freeze and instantly a tribe of orcs was running towards the street. But to be honest, Paul von Brickenstein was really glad about that. A couple of orcs against three trained Lenfel warriors is just like some entertaining practice. After ten minutes the orcs were all dead, and they could continue their way to the far west...

Wow, Diablo looks girly! He looks like a she! There’s been a bit of confusion on this, so it’s a good time to clear the air. Yes, Diablo has high heels, child-bearing hips, a wasp waist, and boobs. No, Diablo is not magically female in this game. You see, Diablo takes on some characteristics of each of his host bodies – in 1, the host was a child, and he was smaller than the other two incarnations. He was also slightly more humanoid and lacked a tail. In 2, he was bigger, more dinosaury, and more intimidating in general. And in 3, his host was female, so he seems to have kept a few vestigial traits despite still being male, self-identifying as male, and having a dude’s voice. But wait, there’s more! As part of the plot, Diablo merged himself with the essences of all the other Prime and Lesser evils, and instead of just being a big red dinosaur, Diablo’s design now has influences from all of them – general spikes and red Diablo-ness, Baal’s shoulder spikes, Mephisto’s horns, ribcage, and extra arms, Duriel’s insectoid mandibles, extra wing bones from Azmodan, Belial’s shoulder-mouths, and Andariel’s, um… feminine attributes. And hooves, too, as his digitigrade legs kind of match her. So there are two explanations, and both work, but the latter one also explains why he looks less like a dinosaur and more like an H. R. Giger nightmare.

This mural was created for Wynwood Walls in 2011 by LA-based artist, RETNA (Marquis Lewis). RETNA, who has been painting around Wynwood since 2006, first started with graffiti and eventually developed his own alphabet influenced by Chicano gang writing in Los Angeles and Egyptian and Mayan calligraphic traditions. His Wynwood Walls piece, a stylistic change from his Los Angeles walls with its large white letters on a red background, pays homage to people who have passed away, as he wrote "sacred dance of memories" and "salva los espiritus santos" (save the holy spirits) in the two rows of letters that we see.
Wynwood Walls, located on a six-building complex along NW 2nd Avenue between NW 25th and NW 26th Streets, was opened by Tony Goldman and Goldman Properties in 2009 to bring together the world's greatest artists working in the graffiti and street art. In 2010, Tony added the Wynwood Doors, 176-feet of roll-up storefront gates. And in 2011, murals outside the complex have been commissioned for Outside the Walls.

The Goldman Wall was first covered with streetart in the summer of 1982 by Keith Haring. Goldman Properties, owned by real-estate developer and art enthusiast Tony Goldman, acquired the wall in 1984, using it for advertisements for two decades. In celebration of what would have been Haring's 50th birthday in 2008, Goldman donated the wall to his friend and curator, Jeffrey Deitch and Deitch Projects. The two commissioned a recreation of Haring's 1982 classic, establishing a relationship that resulted in a series of sanctioned murals on the space from a rotating group of artists and that would ultimately carry over to Miami's Wynwood Walls. With the closing of Deitch Projects in 2010, Goldman teamed up with Deitch's successors, The Hole, to continue the wall's legacy.

En resumen “Andariel” la Doncella de la Angustia es una Sucubo (demonio femenino) que representa a los males menores que habitan en el infierno, siendo opositora al gobierno infernal de los males mayores sus tres demoniacos hermanos (Diablo, Baal y Mefisto) organizo una rebelión en el mismo infierno junto a sus otros hermanos menores (Duriel, Azmodan y Belial); El conflicto que los grandes demonios desataron se llamó la “Guerra del Pecado” donde incontables hordas demoniacas combatieron entre sí para dominar el infierno, al finalizar la disputa los males menores consiguieron por astucia vencer a los tres males mayores que debilitados fueron encarcelados hasta su exilio al reino de los hombres. 👹
Cuando Diablo el señor del terror fue exiliado al reino de los hombres un gran mal comenzó a corromper y caminar entre los mortales llamando la atención de los altos Cielos que actuando como consejeros intervinieron para ayudar a los humanos en la contención del nefasto Diablo; Recluyendo al terrible Diablo su prisión fue fugaz hasta que regreso para intentar despertar a sus otros hermanos cautivos (Baal y Mefisto)pero su nuevo cuerpo poseído era frágil ante los héroes humanos que lo estaba persiguiendo por sospechas y visiones apocalípticas. 💀
Recobrando su antiguo pacto secreto el terrible Diablo invoco a la sádica “Andariel” que buscando ganarse el favor de Diablo en su nuevo intento por dominar y expandir el infierno al reino de los mortales le ayudo a corromper a las creaturas y devotos concilios de mujeres picaras que aceptaron a los demonios como sus nuevos maestros ante la inevitable guerra venidera entre los infiernos y los altos cielos. (Las neófitas que se resistieron fueron atormentadas y asesinadas por “Andariel” que disfruto con sus gritos desesperados.) 😧
Sin Embargo los ángeles actuaron inspirando a los valientes gremios de humanos que utilizando su magia y poderes ocultos con determinación lograron vencer al mal interior al renovar su persecución hasta irrumpir en las oscuras catacumbas donde “Andariel” y luego “Diablos” fueron consumidos por las llamas de su sacrilegio. 🔥
En los eventos más actuales de Diablo 4 reaparece una siniestra “Andariel” por medio de un ritual profano que invocaron los siervos humanos que buscan el alzamiento de “Lilith” la hija del odiado gran demonio Mefisto y sobrina de “Andariel”. 😈

Did you enjoy this project? We did enjoy working on this project. Students had fun creating individual parts of a larger artwork. One student drew the image in black and white using a combination of his and other student’s preliminary drawings of their interpretation of the American Revolution.
About: This artwork is about the essential items and symbols of the American Revolution. When the first colonies were formed, Americans needed to build houses and grow crops while also creating a flag to represent their new land.
