The office portion of the Headmaster's tower(s). The upper area is the Headmaster's Astronomy Tower featuring Dumbledore's telescope. Below that, behind the desk, would be the Headmaster's quarters.
„The office door opened. Dumbledore came in, looking very sombre.
‘Professor,’ Harry gasped, ‘your bird – I couldn’t do anything – he just caught fire –’
To Harry’s astonishment, Dumbledore smiled.
‘About time, too,’ he said. ‘He’s been looking dreadful for days, I’ve been telling him to get a move on.’
He chuckled at the stunned look on Harry’s face.
‘Fawkes is a phoenix, Harry. Phoenixes burst into flame when it is time for them to die and are reborn from the ashes. Watch him …’
Harry looked down in time to see a tiny, wrinkled, new-born bird poke its head out of the ashes. It was quite as ugly as the old one.“

I was really looking forward to building Dumbledore’s office. Since its circular (or as a matter of fact three overlapping ones in the movie), I used the book shelves to emulate that and added a staircase to increase the effect.
Obviously I had to include Fawkes being reborn, even though that minifig hand doesn’t quite do him justice. He’ll be back, more beautiful than ever before!
The lovely floor technique is something I saw in this creation by David Zambito. I just made it ever so slightly more decadent by using dark brown.
Same goes for the Sorting Hat which is obviously based on Marcel's. I just preferred dark brown which isn't too easy – but the carrot worked well.

This series is obviously heavily inspired by my friend Marcel who did the inspirational undertaking of doing a series of daily builds covering Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone last month. Please follow him as his work is amazing and deserves way more views than it currently has!
Thank you, Marcel, for allowing me to continue what you started. You are indeed a wizard.
..., if one remembers to turn on the light.

(Sorry Dumbledore, I changed the word "happiness" to "hope" :p)
ah this was a quick edit, I didn't really make it to look perfect (I still see flaws) but I'm quite happy with the result.
maybe it's because the picture gives the feeling I want.
I was so tired and exhausted last night after having fun and hanging out with my cousins and friends for the whole day, and I just sat down here quietly at night, and I just felt like to do some levitation, i wanted to just float and sleep like that. I walked slowly to take everything, set up everything, took out my dress and started shooting, really slowly.
there's another 1 in the comment.
but it doesn't suit this title, I didn't intent to do that photo initially,
but then when i was viewing all the photos i had taken, i instantly fell in love with that shot because it gave me the feeling of being helpless, falling, and no one is there. that was a super quick edit, anyway.
oh and I want to say that brooke shaden must have inspired me somewhere in these photos. she's one of the best artists in doing levitation in flickr, i dare say. and she's so willing so share many of her experience and thoughts in her blog. i fell in love with her conceptual works lately. look at this album, i love every single photo in this album, she's incredible. thanks for being so inspiring! :)
love,
kahying :)
dhawan!m is wearing mattel dumbledore's robe, and mattel mcgonagal's hat. the magical props are from a disney doll and i think one of the spiderman friends.
and now i'm hoping for sacha dhawan to star in a discworld adaptation...
2 recent good finds at BBTS: i always wanted an articulated panthor figure and while this one is meant to be a steed for a smaller scale, i think it makes a great large pet for 1:6 dolls.
the control room background is by Extreme-Sets... i was hoping they would do 1:6 and now they have! i want more :D
ps: i don't get any money or anything if you buy those things at those links, but i just like to share my sources. they are probably available somewhere else too.

Hello everyone! I'm so glad to show you my newest #harrypotter lego vignette. I will make a few more of these in the coming weeks. I hope you like it! ;)
Which scene should I build next? Write in the comments! ;)
Taken at the Warner Brother's Studio Harry Potter tour near Watford. The most amazing afternoon spent there recently. They display all the original sets, costumes and props from the movies and it is just fabulous.
Only downside is the mood lighting. Not allowed to use tripods to the ISO is wopped up to a very noisy 8-10000, so don't be looking too closely please!

Chapter 23 : Horcruxes
....Dumbledore's gargoyle, which leapt aside, permitting Harry entrance on to the spiral staircase.
'Enter', said Dumbledore when Harry knocked. He sounded exhausted.
Harry pushed open the door. There was Dumbledore's office, looking the same as ever, but with black star-strewn skies beyond the windows.
'Good gracious, Harry,' said Dumbledore in surprise. 'To what do I owe this very late pleasure?'
'Sir - I've got it. I've got the memory from Slughorn.'
_
In which Harry and Dumbledore watch the real Slughorn memory, where Tom Riddle contemplates making more than one Horcrux. Dumbledore discusses with Harry his suspicion that Voldemort made six Horcruxes, including the destroyed diary and ring, the Slytherin locket, the Hufflepuff cup, and Nagini - Voldemort's pet snake. Dumbledore states that Harry can join him in his hunt for the next Horcrux and talks to him about what the prophecy really means and the importance of love.

I don't have anything to really say about this, so enjoy!

I was lucky Professor Dumbledore taught me to conjure up the patron with the astral projection attack without the wand or he wouldn't have been able to defend me.

"Madame Rosmerta's finest oak-matured mead," said Dumbledore, raising his glass to Harry, who caught hold of his and sipped. He had never tasted anything like it before, but enjoyed it immensely. The Dursleys, after quick, scared looks at one another, tried to ignore their glasses completely, a difficult feat, as they were nudging them gently on the side of their heads. Harry could not suppress a suspicion that Dumbledore was rather enjoying himself."

I have been so inspired lately with the fantastic Harry's Magical Journey project that has been going on for the past few months, and that will be continuing. Not only did it inspire me in my LEGO imagination, but also encouraged me to reread the Harry Potter books for probably the 15th time.
I wrapped this build up a few days ago, and I must say I'm incredibly happy with the scene. I created lots of custom furniture for this creation, and I really explored a lot of interesting techniques. I tried to come up with some new ones, specifically the floor design!
I wanted to tag some awesome builders who have participated in the project, and who have inspired me. I hope you enjoy my unofficial contribution to the Harry Potter vignette series project! :D
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore - Dumbledore's quest around Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood
Dumbo - "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass" is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
Chapter 36
Dumbledore pushed the oak door open.
Sirius was standing there. His face was white and gaunt as it had been when he had escaped Azkaban. ‘Harry, are you all right? I knew it – I knew something like this – what happened?’
His hands shook as he helped Harry into a chair in front of the desk.

During the last month, I scrapped some ideas that I’ve had for vignettes and – as a result – had to find a substitute in the remaining chapters.
I got into dire straits a few days ago when I realised that the final scene in the Great Hall is … well … quite dull. There is no feast, there are not even tables, only benches and sad looking people.
I went forth and back through the last chapters to find an alternative and then I had the perfect idea: Dumbledore’s office. The only problem was, Markus did it – even twice – and in such a perfect way, that I didn’t dare to build it myself.
Then I realised that something was missing in both his vignettes – the paintings of the former headmasters. I decided to concentrate on this detail and only a small section of the round wall from the films, so I could build a straight wall.
Speaking of straight, I also managed to sneak in a little “stereotypical” hint that Dumbledore is homosexual.
Then a friend pointed out, that Markus also had one of the living paintings in one of his vignettes; in the Slytherin Common Room (one of my most favourites, by the way). I swear, I didn’t realise it before and we both even used golden parts to build the frames.
Edit:
Due to minor health problems, I might not be able to post my last vignette tomorrow.

“See what they’ve named themselves?” said Fudge quietly. “Dumbledore’s Army.”
Dumbledore reached out and took the piece of parchment from Fudge. He gazed at the heading scribbled by Hermione months before and for a moment seemed unable to speak. Then he looked up, smiling.
“Well, the game is up,” he said simply. “Would you like a written confession from me, Cornelius — or will a statement before these witnesses suffice?”
Harry saw McGonagall and Kingsley look at each other. There was fear in both faces. He did not understand what was going on, and neither, apparently, did Fudge.
“Statement?” said Fudge slowly. “What — I don’t — ?”
“Dumbledore’s Army, Cornelius,” said Dumbledore, still smiling as he waved the list of names before Fudge’s face. “Not Potter’s Army. Dumbledore’s Army.”
“But — but —”
Understanding blazed suddenly in Fudge’s face. He took a horrified step backward, yelped, and jumped out of the fire again.
“You?” he whispered, stamping again on his smoldering cloak.
“That’s right,” said Dumbledore pleasantly.
“You organized this?”
“I did,” said Dumbledore.

And here’s already the next scene :)
The set 4729 Dumbledore’s Office was the only Harry Potter set I got in my childhood, but it’s one of the best sets of this series in my opinion. I had thought about using these spiral steps in a moc for a long time and now as I build this scene I had no choice to reuse them to where they came from.
Here you also see why I used white hair for Dumbledore — Vitruvius’ knotted beard is just perfect for him.
Fawkes is inspired my Markus’ version.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 20
Chapter 20 : Lord Voldemort's Request
'Professor Trelawney still isn't happy Firenze is teaching, then?' Harry asked.
'No,' said Dumbledore. 'Divination is turning out to be much more trouble than I could have foreseen, never having studied the subject myself. I cannot ask Firenze to return to the Forest, where he is now an outcast, nor can I ask Sybill Trelawney to leave. Between ourselves, she has no idea of the danger she would be in outside the castle. She does not know - and I think it would be unwise to enlighten her - that she made the prophecy about you and Voldemort, you see.'
_
In which Harry arrives at Dumbledore's office for his lesson and finds Professor Trelawney upset. Harry and Dumbledore then explore two memories: the first of when Voldemort kills the owner of the Slytherin locket to acquire it, and the second in which Riddle asks Dumbledore for the Defence Against the Dark Arts teaching position, which may have began the curse of no professor being able to hold the role for long.
_
I went into this build having designed the gargoyle entrance, leading up to Dumbledore's office door...it was massive. Eventually I decided to divide the creation into two different days (more on the gargoyle entrance later). I don't think we see the transition point from the gargoyle’s stairs leading to Dumbledore’s office entrance so I had to come up with something. The tan wall is also my attempt at creating a cut into a structure - wouldn't have made sense to create a full structure since the stairs would have then extended all the way down, also tried just a plain wall and it looked, well…too plain. So this works for what its intended to do, hold up the upper part haha! I own the Trelawney minifigure but am not a big fan of it so decided to make my own, wished there was more options for long hair in dark blonde but thats a whole other thing I could get into :p

According to mythology, Nereus was ruler of the Aegean sea and Father to the 50 Nereids.
I haven't sewn in ages so for MerMay I decided to make this merman. He started as a Dumbledore from Harry Potter doll, his tail and sleeves are all hand sewn by me, I made the trident/sceptre using bits in my junk box, the crown is a repainted Barbie crown with added jewel.

Chapter 27 : The Lightning-Struck Tower
The sound frightened Harry beyond anything he had experienced all evening. For the first time, Dumbledore was pleading.
Snape said nothing, but walked forwards and pushed Malfoy roughly out of the way. The three Death Eaters fell back without a word. Even the werewolf seemed cowed.
Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face.
'Severus ... please ...'
Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore.
'Avada Kedavra!'
A jet of green light shot from the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest. Harry's scream of horror never left him; silent and unmoving, he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air: for a split second he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fell slowly backwards, like a great rag doll, over the battlements and out of sight.
_
In which Malfoy corners and disarms a weak Dumbledore after returning from the Cave, using the summoned Dark Mark as a lure. Malfoy reveals that he was the one to give the cursed necklace to Katie Bell and the poisoned mead to Professor Slughorn (which poisons Ron) both meant for Dumbledore. Malfoy also reveals that he managed to sneak in the Death Eaters with the Vanishing Cabinet, which has a twin cabinet at Borgin & Burkes. Malfoy fails to kill Dumbledore and the rest of the Death Eaters, including Snape, join them in the Astronomy tower. Snape blasts Dumbledore off of the tower, killing him and BREAKING MY HEART FOREVER.

HOW CAN I EVEN BUILD THIS WITHOUT CRYING THE WHOLE TIME - I COULDNT. I sobbed and then needed to edit out all of my tears from my moc. #sadforever

Chapter 4 : Horace Slughorn
Dumbledore moved carefully into the middle of the room, scrutinizing the wreckage at his feet. Harry followed, gazing around, half-scared of what he might see hidden behind the wreck of the piano or the overturned sofa, but there was no sign of a body.
'Maybe there was a fight and - and they dragged him off, Professor?' Harry suggested, trying not to imagine how badly wounded the man would have to be to leave those stains spattered halfway up the walls.
'I don’t think so,' said Dumbledore quietly, peering behind an overstuffed armchair lying on its side.
'You mean he's -?'
'Still here somewhere? Yes.'
And without warning, Dumbledore swooped, plunging the tip of his wand into the seat of the overstuffed armchair, which yelled, 'Ouch!'
'Good evening, Horace,'
_
In which Dumbledore attempts to convince Horace Slughorn, with Harry's help, to return to Hogwarts to teach.
_
How could I not include Slughorn as an armchair!? I absolutely adore how this armchair came out and am happy that I was able to portray the tacky setting of the home Slughorn hides in with carpet, weird colours/patterns and tacky curtains.

Chapter 10 : The House of Gaunt
Dumbledore tipped the silvery contents of the bottle into the Pensieve, where they swirled and shimmered, neither liquid nor gas.
'After you,' said Dumbledore, gesturing towards the bowl.
_
In which Dumbledore begins Harry's lessons, where they will dive into the Pensieve and view memories of Voldemort's past. The first memory is of the Gaunt household where they witness a miserable man named Marvolo and his son Morfin (who has committed a crime) and his mistreated daughter, Merope. Later Dumbledore explains that Merope is the mother of Voldemort who used a love potion on a muggle named Tom Riddle.
_
The quote in this photo is actually from the movie, I love it so much more than anything else in this chapter! This memories cabinet is quite the fragile little bugger but with patience, you really can achieve anything! I also truly believe that I own the most Unikitty body parts than anyone else in the world, should I be proud? #acatladywithnorealcats

Chapter 13 : The Secret Riddle
Having reached their side of the street, he strode off along the pavement, drawing many curious glances due to the flamboyantly cut suit of plum velvet that he was wearing.
'Nice suit, sir,' said Harry, before he could stop himself, but Dumbledore merely chuckled as they followed his younger self a short distance, finally passing through a set of iron gates into a bare courtyard that fronted a rather grim, square building surrounded by high railings.
_
In which Dumbledore and Harry watch the memory of when Dumbledore first visits Tom Riddle in an Orphanage. They learn that Tom had been using magic unknowingly, stealing from and hurting the other children, and had no friends. Dumbledore tells Tom he is a wizard and invited him to attend Hogwarts if he doesn't steal or hurt anymore.
_
I had originally built the scene of Dumbledore sitting in Tom's bedroom where he sets the wardrobe ablaze, and after sitting with it for a couple of days I actually scrapped it and built this instead. There was very little interesting building opportunities with the plain orphanage room, and even though this scene is not any more exciting, I still had a lot of fun building it and using some techniques I have never tried before!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 26
Chapter 26 : The Cave
'Sir - here!' Harry yelled, and lunging forwards he tipped the water clumsily over Dumbledore's face.
It was the best he could do, for the icy feeling on his arm not holding the cup was not the lingering chill of the water. A slimy hand had gripped his wrist, and the creature to whom it belonged was pulling him, slowly, backwards across the rock.
_
In which Dumbledore and Harry cross the lake and find the Slytherin Locket Horcrux in a basin of liquid. They discover that the liquid must be drunk and Dumbledore makes Harry promise to agree to do whatever he says, including forcing Dumbledore to drink the liquid no matter what. After drinking the potion, Harry touches the lake to give Dumbledore water to drink - causing hundreds of Inferi to crawl from the lake towards them. Dumbledore summons fire to push back the Inferi allowing him and Harry to escape the cave and return to Hogwarts with the Horcrux.
_
I had a pretty difficult time trying to build this scene, I had this idea for months on using the bley dinos as rocks and had originally tried to build my Hogsmeade scene with it - I ended up scrapping the idea and building Honeydukes instead but still had not given up on wanting to try this idea. The scene itself is pretty simple. I became too frustrated with it since, as you can see, there are barely any attachments, so parts fell often when I tried to get it to rest together. In the end I decided to keep it simple, and finally added a few Golum's as Inferi (those things are creepy AF).

Professor Dumbledore's room inside the Hogwart castle (from the Harry Potter movies) in the Universal Studios :)
Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. About 70% of the studio lies within county island known as Universal City while the rest lies within the city limits of Los Angeles. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use, established in 1912. The theme park, established in 1964, was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets and is the first of many full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world. In all parks belonging to the Universal group, you will find plenty of modern attractions that refer to films produced under this banner, e.g. "Jurassic Park", "Water World" or "Harry Potter". The biggest attraction of this park is a tour of a huge film studio. Universal City includes also hotels Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Universal Hotel, and Universal City Walk, which offers a collection of shops, restaurants, an 18-screen Universal Cinema and a seven-story IMAX theater.

Commentary.
The famed “Road to the Isles” owes much of its appeal to the
views of Loch Eilt, half way to Mallaig.
Wooded reflections of mountain peaks above verdant shores give superb views at every twist and turn whether by road, rail or on foot.
Potter himself, on his way to the imaginary “Hogwarts”
enjoyed the self-same views from the northern shore (in shot).
Spectacular valley, mountain, coastal, beach and island scenery
make this route simply world-class!!!
