Mike and I had the pleasure to meet Dumbledore, an Eurasian Eagle Owl, who lives at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a magnificent bird who has fathered seven owlets over the years. What a delightful encounter!
Stylish town house entrance in green and reddish tones, framed in beige. Cozy Pangrati neighborhood, Athens, Greece.
Our day started early, meeting at 4am to travel to Loch Eilt for a sunrise, which as you can see happened but without the colour!! All was not lost as I particularly liked this one I took of the light highlighting the tree and throwing a subtle reflection on the water. We left our sunrise location rather disappointed but ever hopeful that the day could only get better.........
It rained most of the day but I liked the light that came and went all be it briefly. I think this is highlighted beautifully on my last photograph of the day. "Ailort Refection" www.flickr.com/photos/mrsr66/29644460430/in/photostream/
The company was great as always although the coffee left a little to be desired, look forward to our next planned trip guys.

=======================
This is one of the most photogenic corners of Lacock, in Wiltshire. This beautiful southern England village has been the location of the filming of several TV series and movies, most notably Downton Abbey and Harry Potter.
This is the first view Harry Potter gets of the village of Budleigh Babberton when Albus Dumbledore brings hime magically there. But it's Lacock at night and with an atrezzo stone cross.
But for me, it's mostly relevant because it's one of the places where photography was invented, and the most interestig at that.

For the Harry Potter fans amongst you, this is this is Eilean na Moine at the west end of Loch Eilt which appears in the films as Dumbledore's last resting place.
We could have used some wizardly intervention with the weather which was a big dissapointment after a very early start to reach this spot for sunrise.
Russell (McRusty) and I met up with Carol (MrsR66) and Steve (Stoates-Findhorn) before sunrise at this location which faces due east along the loch in anticipation of a colourful dawn; alas it wasn't to be.
The lack of colour seems to lend itself to a monochrome conversion.

Friday night, October 25, 2019 the Whittier Narrows Nature Center hosted three hundred elementary students at a Halloween at Hogwarts from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Its been a really rough and at times dark 2020, but there are some genuine reasons to hope 2021 will be a little brighter.
The bright light creates a rainbow as the storm recedes over the last resting place of Professor Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts.
Also known as Loch Eilt in the West Highlands of Scotland.
A Happy New year to all my fellow flickr users, here's hoping for a brighter 2021.

I did this shoot as part of my Generations series where I photograph grand parents with their grand kids. This series is very close to my heart as it helps me relive the wonderful times I spend with my own grandparents as a child.
"One thing was certain: of all the teachers' offices Harry had visited so far this year, Dumbledore's was by far the most interesting... It was a large and beautiful circular room, full of funny little noises. A number of curious silver instruments stood on spindle-legged tables, whirring and emitting little puffs of smoke. The walls were covered with portraits of old headmasters and headmistresses, all of whom were snoozing gently in their frames. There was also an enormous, claw-footed desk, and, sitting on a shelf behind it, a shabby, tainted wizard's hat — the Sorting Hat."
—Harry Potter
I really enjoyed building all these fascinating objects and the challenge of a curved room.
Now on the internet and coming to Skaerbaek this weekend.

The graffiti is right. Although you never saw that in the films: This is the original backside of Albus Dumbledore's working room in Hogwarts castle.

“So silly of me. But it sounded for a teensy moment as though you were suggesting that the Ministry of Magic had ordered an attack on this boy!”
She gave a silvery laugh that made the hairs on the back of Harry’s neck stand up. A few other members of the Wizengamot laughed with her. It could not have been plainer that not one of them was really amused.
“If it is true that the dementors are taking orders only from the Ministry of Magic, and it is also true that two dementors attacked Harry and his cousin a week ago, then it follows logically that somebody at the Ministry might have ordered the attacks,” said Dumbledore politely.
“Of course, these particular dementors may have been outside Ministry control —”
“There are no dementors outside Ministry control!” snapped Fudge, who had turned brick red.

I recently got a package with some parts in my favourite color — metallic silver :)
Didn't order them for a special purpose, but I just like that color so much and they were relatively cheap.
Anyway now I tried to make a floor design out of these and I'm quite happy with it. The parts are such under pressure in the frame so that you can even lift it up without the floor falling down.
You might wonder why Dombledore's hair is so short. The reasoson for this is that there isn't any white hair piece with long hair that would fit for the great wizard. And the color white was very important for me — you'll see later why.

If you haven’t seen the first four parts so far, please have a look at the albums of my predecessors.

Another from the new Harry Potter CMF series.
Dumbledore comes with the absolutely awesome Fawkes. How cool is this Phoenix?
Other new parts the series introduces include the Butterbeer glasses (uses here as the oil lights) and the Sword of Gryffindor (on the wall there)

I've been about to build Dumbledore before, but never got it done until this. He's such great character.
More on Cyclopic Bricks, as always.
Harry Potter mini figures! I hope these make you smile this Saturday! I love Dumbledore, his wisdom and his humour! “Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
This is an old photo. I kinda dig it. Not sure why I never shared it before. If anything I like it more than the two Dumbledore portraits I did share.

I picked one note from my glass with the photo ideas today and it said "favorite book" so this is not my favorite book (I wouldn't draw in it :D) but it's related to it... Harry Potter accompanied me for so many years so here are some wise words from Albus Dumbledore :D
Sorry I have to catch up commenting your beautiful photos... I will do my best! Have a good start into the new week :)
"And finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends! I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom!"

So...a great way to end the project after one month: With a scene containing my favourite character Neville.
First of all a thankful shoutout to workshysteve! He inspired me and shared his awesome photo setup I constantly used!
It was fun, exhausting, satisfying and educational for myself. This series is kind of a summary of techniques i know and like to use.
I want to thank all the commenters/ favo's, you really pushed me to keep the builds coming!
There were a few builds that remain a special meaning to me:
#010 - the most popular
#003 - the most beautiful (in my opinion ;))
#013 - as my personal favourite

So... finally I want to answer the question, a few shared under the last Moc's: Will you do another book?...The answer is: No, definitly not right now.
BUT: I pass over to my good friend rolli, he's in a planning process for a few day's and ready to start at April, 1st. I've seen various first impressions...wow! If there may be somebody not already following him, I could highly recommend it!
Best regards, hope you liked it,
Marcel
The other night, I was in here about ten minutes before park closing. It was just me and my tripod in this room for quite a while. It's quite the surreal feeling being in one of the world's best queues alone, like you're getting a private performance of it all.
Hope you all enjoy!

I did a Harry Potter shoot with some of my awesome, Harry Potter-obsessed friends! On the hottest day of the year. Woo!
But I'm now trying to learn how to recreate spells/curses in photoshop or gimp.. i'm trying to get jets of light, and i can't quite figure out how to make it look real. :/ any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THURSDAY. my costume is almost complete, i'm just waiting for my gryffindor tie. :)
HOLY CRAP. i cried. this movie is going to kill me..
My newest MOC for a collaboration with other members of the Dumbledore's Army Lego group - the office of Amelia Bones, head of the magical law enforcement. There are only six members at the moment, so if you like building medieval or enjoy reading/watching Harry Potter, be sure to check us out!
The Rotfang conspiracy was a conspiracy that had been briefly mentioned by Luna Lovegood in the Half Blood Prince. It was described as a plan to overthrow the ministry using a combination of Dark Magic and gum disease.
In the build you can see Amelia Bones sitting at her desk with an Auror (dark wizard catcher) at her side who is a member of the Rotfang conspiracy. The bottle on Amelia Bone's desk and the ones in the crate near the left wall are meant to represent a potion created using dark magic and gum disease (not sure how that's supposed to work - magic, I guess) which were planted there by the Auror.
P.S. I'm sorry I haven't been building a lot lately - I just started high school and I'm finding it really hard to squeeze in Lego with all of my other things I have to do. Right now I'm working on A spaceship for SHIPtember which won't be done for another two weeks or more. So until then I won't be posting hardly any new MOCs, possibly none at all. I will be trying to film update videos for my SHIP for my YouTube channel, so if you're interested in seeing how I'm doing, be sure to check that out as well.
