Sol Duc Falls, Olympic National Park.

There's nothing like being in the rain forest when its just been raining, its so lush and green with moss everywhere,

This is a really interesting waterfall in Olympic National Park, but it's not a great one to shoot. The trail and terrain pretty much only give you one decent angle at it, which is why my shot looks EXACTLY like every other shot I've ever seen of this place. Main challenge with this version was the Photoshop work required to clone out all the people that were on the trail on the right side. Still, it's a really beautiful fall and a very easy hike into it.

Il ne faut pas tarder à croquer le Moyen-duc étonné de notre soudaine apparition, car si par la suite on ne manifeste pas notre présence outre-mesure, il a tôt fait de sommeiller et de nous ignorer complètement.

Located in The Olympic National Park in Washington State, these falls were on the top of my bucket list when visiting the USA during early fall in 2016.

Just got back from several days on the Olympic Peninsula. We did the hike to Sol Duc Falls. Very beautiful waterfall. Would be fun to return when the flow volume is increased during spring run off.

Notice the two men in the center top of the image. They climbed down on the slippery rocks near the falls. I appreciate that they provide "scale" in my image and am glad they did not slip down into the canyon.

Explored.

Dissimulé dans un épais feuillage, ce hibou moyen-duc a une expression avec ses longues aigrettes rabattues et sa tête arrondie qui diffère de sa posture habituelle où le corps est davantage allongé et les aigrettes bien dressées. / Hiden in a thick foliage, this Long-eared Owl has an expression with its long folded egrets and its rounded head witch differs from it's usual posture where the body is more elongated and egrets that typically point straight up.

Olympic National Forest, Washington.

Old-growth forest, subalpine lakes, and snowy peaks populate the Sol Duc landscape, while the Sol Duc River serves as a key highway for coho salmon, running through the valley and ascending to the lakes and headwaters in the surrounding mountains.

The Sol Duc Valley is located in the northwest region of the park. Just 40 minutes west of Port Angeles, the Sol Duc is accessed by turning off Highway 101 onto the Sol Duc Road.

For those looking to spend anywhere from a few hours to an entire day in the Sol Duc, there are a number of shorter hikes that may be suitable. From the parking lot, the walk through old-growth forest to the Sol Duc Falls overlook is just a mile. Lover's Lane (6 mile loop) and the climb to Mink Lake (5.2 miles roundtrip) can also be done in just a few hours.

I recently spent a week in Olympic National Park with my wife and was blown away by how diverse the park was. I've always heard of how gloomy and wet the area is but my experience was nothing but sunshine and beautiful 70 degree weather. The milky way even showed up a couple of times for me! Here is a shot of Sol Duc Falls.

Created for DUC 1159, starting with Dela7's challenge image (see it in first comment).

Lui était tourmenté à la fois par une corneille (ou un corbeau) et par une *paparazzi* claqueuse de langue pour le tenir éveillé. Encore une fois, j'ai pris 2-3 clichés et je suis partie, écoeurée.
