Since I had XAMPP on the Eee PC, getting Drupal up and running was pretty easy. (I also used the Eee PC Photo Manager to upload this image.)

Drupal is a premier opensource content management system that has gained a huge following. It keeps getting better, and as folks contribute modules, folks like me see bugs. Unlike in the typical commercial software world, here you have the power to do something about it!

Just wanted to comemmorate my first patch. In all, it's tiny: if diff could do a single word instead of an entire line, it would be that small..! :D

This is a look at the new theme for Aegir. Our goal was to make a minimal, admin-focused theme that's highly compatible with Drupal core. You can download it at drupal.org/project/eldir.

On complex sites you'll have a lot of regions with a lot of blocks

in them. When you then want your site editors to publish blocks - i. e.

a teaser that promotes a new campaign - you need to confront them

with a rampant admin/build/block page.

On top of that, blocks don't have any workflow control and are

complicated to manage on multilingual sites.

So, imagine you can just publish a node to the sidebar as you

publish to your front page - with a simple, familiar interface,

full workflow control and full control over the block's settings -

just like on the block's own settings page.

A new Quicksilver-like control interface for Drupal sites. Awesome! Code name was "Quicksilver" until today. From now on, this will be called "Cobalt". More info at github.com/hugowetterberg.
