Sounds amazing. It's about forty times nicer than my other snare drum, which I had bought used and never replaced the heads on...

Last night I went to the drum circle at Third Beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver BC. This is a weekly event that I have never had the chance to check out until now. It was quite the scene! So many different characters come out to this, it's really fantastic.
I had a 70-200mm so I could get close without disrupting the drummers. I approached the outside of the circle and tried to find holes through the surrounding drummers and people dancing. This made it quite difficult to focus on one subject for a long period of time. Every few seconds someone would walk into the frame.
Crouching low to the ground I found a perfect view of this woman in a meditative state and fully participating in the percussive beat of the circle.
Checked out the Drum Circle at Meridian Hill Park. It's been going on every Sunday for about 40 years. And it's amazing!
LA underground producer/ DJ extraordinaire The Gaslamp Killer posed for a underwater shoot for us in our usual pool in the Hollywood Hills. He reminds us so much of Animal, the drummer from the Muppet Show.
