Once things have been sitting around in my lego room for about a year, it comes time to photograph them.
Finally finished this a few days ago. Definitely one of the funnest mocs I've built.
Finally here is a final photo of my SHiPtember entry for 2017.
Enjoy=D
To be fair, I want to say "thank you" to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/102825435@N07] for an inspiration. Of course I get a little bit and did it my way=D
Here is a bit of Matrix, a bit of Guardian of a Galaxy and a bit of nature to=D
Video of the functions. Lights have been linked with the rotors so they light up when the rotors turn.
The UNSC Pelican is one of my favorite dropships from any sci-fi. I tried to mix the Halo: Reach and the Halo 2: Anniversary Pelican (Which looks stunning).
This thing has been on my bucket list for a while. Last year I bought some sand green parts to update another model (Photos of that to come later), and I ended up making a wing with some of the extra pieces. A few orders and after moving, I finally finished this thing.
I do wish I had spent more time on the coloring. In person this looks great, but in photos it does Come across a bit bland.

Built for the PhLUG (Philippine LUG) Spacetember September 2014 challenge.
Himinioðurr
Heaven's Horizon
The Himinioðurr (hi-mi-ni-yo-dur) is a single pilot orbital-class dropship designed to transport troops to the battlefield while being able to provide huge artillery support.
Specifications:
- 2 Autocannons with built-in anti-personnel machine guns
- - -
Build notes:
build duration: roughly a week
Definitely my biggest build as of date. While not exactly the most complex build, working on a big ship (40+ studs) was a challenge since I have no experience whatsoever in it and had to research on ship frame techniques for stability and being able to latch on "panels" for the design. I'm now out of DBG bricks haha!
Getting specific angles on this thing was something I needed to have and was achieved by using plate hinges and click joints (the booster units are actually 3 click joint assemblies to hold the vents, top, and side covers, and 1 ball joint for the booster)
Credits to Dasnewten over at Flickr for being an awesome inspiration on the shaping.

And much credit to the awesome people who helped me and gave me critiques during the process
hello today we are meeting for the release of my new moc, it is a republic gunship modified to be able to lift and take vehicles (AT-TE) on the battlefield
! large personnel carrier and 2 remote AI equipment carriers that also double as survey/surveillance support.
Derived from the military PROMETHEUS class dropship, the ALTAIR was specially designed as eastern kingdom's Princess T'amarHa personal starcruiser. The bright red colour was the mark of the eastern royal family. The ship is equipped with a very powerful neuro-amp both T'amarHa and Reaggg'a-r, her pilot, can use to amplify their telepathic powers.
As the last survivor of the eastern kingdom royal family, the princess is the guardian of the star library buried deep in the Krri-frit valley. Only her telepathic touch can activate the key to the library. It is said that the star library compile knowledges back to the first sages of Serys and is a great source of power. This is why T'amarHa has been on the run from R'rah-œll and his Blacktron agents ever since the explosion of Serys moon.
[DESCRIPTION]
Talon Dropship units serve to transport our units for the most efficient responses, driven by our expert pilots.
A planetary dropship in service with the Rigellian Space Navy. Capable of hauling a variety of heavy cargoes to and from orbit, it is pictured here carrying a universal APC ready for deployment.
Designed to drop men and materiel at high speed into hostile environments, the dropship is equipped with an air-to-ground rail gun on the starboard airfoil and a rotating turret on the port side to engage close range targets. The central, high mounted cockpit affords the two crewmembers a commanding view of the battlefield; whilst the overpowered reactor permits rapid descent and ascent back to orbit.
A model I started about 3 years ago but only got around to finishing recently. It was originally going to be just the dropship, but the walker itself is a project I took up just recently. The tricky part was getting them to connect and separate easily without the weight of the walker putting too much strain on the bricks

Here's a micro scale drop ship I made a while ago that has since been disassembled but wanted to record for future use. Built it in studio if you want some instructions > www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=250551
A futuristic VTOL dropship.
I wanted to use those legs from a 'Star Wars' set, 75148 'Encounter on Jakku', in a MOC, so here is the result. Enjoy

Delta 9er is a space fighter from the Antares Base. It features rotable and extendable engines. You may join it to the cargo bay and will thus form the Galaxy Dropship capable of holding smaller space fighters.
Check out this concept proposal at LegoIdeas and support it. Let us show Lego "Classic Space" is still alive.
I built an M:Tron version of the Galaxy Dropship as an additional variant to the Classic Space set proposal. You may vote for it here:
Check out the details in the updates at LegoIdeas. I have more pictures there. Hope you vote for the idea. Thx.

Scene from James Cameron's 1986 movie 'Aliens'
OK - so this scene should really be mirrored left-to-right but I didn't have time to rebuild the walls up the other end to match the movie scene.
I was always a bit uncertain of where the dropship stairs were with respect to the APC ramp - but they seem to work well in this position.
I'd like to do an alien queen airlock MOC at some point in the future - but no time at the moment :(
Hey guys,
this is my LAAT/c or Republic Dropship MOC. It fits perfectly with my other Clone Wars MOC's that are available at BrickVault. It can carry the AT-TE and is much more accurate than my old version of the ship I think. An improvement at least in my opinion :)
Instructions available at: www.brickvault.toys/products/republic-dropship-minifig-scale

Let me know what you think :)
The Valiant, the oldest vehicle serving in the Turan Council's arsenal. These dropship's were the first to land on Demeter, the first habitable planet discovered.
During their service time they went through several upgrades as the very first version dates back several decades, with this one shown here being the most recent. What they were lacking is FTL travel. However, due to their age they can only make shorter jumps, but even this is a big step forward.
4th wall: I was inspired by the movie Interstellar for this build. I tried to achieve an "older" look, thus why it looks boxy.
Well, thank you for viewing and reading my little backstory for it!
This dropship is designed for cargo transport including deliveries to remote areas. This is facilitated by the swiveling vertical takeoff and landing engines.
Experimented with single plate thin lines for the first time on this build and also built my first detailed pilot seat with control sticks.
Spent a lot of time getting the top rail mounted correctly- it looks clean on the outside but the interior has some crazy connections.
Near the end of The War, aeronautical manufacturers Advanced Weapons Group and Gaerlen Heinz collaborated on a beefier version of the fabled GH-23 Cricket. The AWG/GH 55 was about 20% larger, featured heavier armor, and advanced avionics. However, the largest differences were the addition of a tail and stabilizers, and rotors (vs jet propulsion). The new 55's didn't have the top speed of the 23's, but were just as maneuverable and much quieter.
The 55T Mantis featured the same frame as the Cricket variants, with the addition of heavy weaponry, and of course the two seater cockpit, room for a pilot and gunner. In addition to the upgraded arms, the Mantis could carry five Marines into or out of battle, and use them for fire support.
The 55T Mantis brought much needed aerial firepower to the battlefront, in addition to flying the same mission set as the Cricket- and Marines loved them just as much.
She's pretty close to what I can realistically expect to achieve with my skill and number of bricks. I tapped out most of my useful bricks on this baby ;)
I'd like to do a proper scene sometime too.
A little something I build during the year. It was a first experiment with PF functions that went pretty well and taught me a lot.
Functions are:
- rotating rotors
- 4 linked rotating propulsors
- opening/closing side doors
- lights on front "wings"

This dropship build was partly inspired by a creature living in Africa, Minor Asia and Asia, mainly on the Indian subcontinent, namely the Ratel also known as the Honey Badger which is a tough little beast.
If you find nature inspirering, i recomend you to go to YT and search it out, and you will probably be a little surprised of what the Ratel can endure, enjoy.
For me as usual, it is the challenge to give the build a organic feel, while it still gives the impression of being a (plausible) futuristic flying machine, in this case a VTOL dropship.
This version is of course part of the HoneyBadger batalion............
This MOC was created to 'drop' on Legoworld 2017 in Copenhagen.
This low-altitude dropship holds four minifigs in the back. I built it for the Lego Ideas Minifigure battle contest. 202 comes from 2020, the year I built my first NCS Moc.
Typically used to deploy squads of drones into combat zones, this particular dropship has been converted into a mobile home and laboratory for Trattorian refugee Dr. Amelia Drummer.
The ACV-37A Warhawk is a United States Air Force VTOL dropship designed to transport light cargo to and from the battlefield as well as to provide airborne infantry support alongside its smaller Gunship counterpart, the VASP Gunships. The Warhawk provides room for a pilot, a gunner and external as well as internal freight. Unlike the VASP, the Warhawk has a fully armored canopy, leaving the crew to entirely rely on VR and external sensors. Given its significantly larger radar cross and the notable heat signature, which caused by its four engines, the Warhawk utilizes flare suspenders and advanced ECM, while of course also relying on its notably heavy armor against non lock on based systems.
This one was most notably inspired by some of StTheo´s aircraft artworks, in particular the canopy was.

A model build on demand as the customer needed a ship to hold the APC model I built for him some months before. Both are minifigures scale so this one is huge and heavy.

The UD-4 Dropship from "Aliens"
Missing Brick did a fantastic version maybe back in 2013-14 too, that was one of the reasons for my rebuilding it in 6-wide instead of 4-wide this time around.
This did have an amazing SNOT set of folding rocket pylons (using minifig legs as the rotating mechanism, surprisingly) However, just like with Missing Brick's situation, the pylons were just too weak to hold any kind of decent pod so they're gone...
This is an electronic-warfare modified variant based on the UD4-L utility dropship airframe. The upgraded model features additional sensors for sig-int or early warning & control duties. The folding pods have been replaced with additional sensors/avionics/fuel storage. Ramp storage for an M577 APC has been removed, in favour of additional seating for the larger crew.
The SP variant is also capable of "Wild Weasel" advanced strike missions despite it missing the larger weapon pods.
As the airframe no longer needs to account for folding wing pylons, a large RADAR/LIDAR sensor dish and suite can be installed above & between the main Scramjet engines.
At present there are a few more tweaks to be done, particularly to the tail and a few bricks need to be swapped out in the landing gear & ramp for the correct colours.
This pic has been uploaded just in case something catastrophic occurs with the retrofits, this weighs several KG now and is not easy to hold as most of the underside is cargo ramp or landing gear.
Working features so far: Working landing gear, cargo ramp & folding forward weapon/sensor pylons.
EDIT: The rear landing strut needs some reinforcement, it's very flimsy and prone to collapse...
