A breathtaking and icy morning atmosphere made the church emerge mystically from the morning fog. Sometimes, you only have a small window of time to capture such fleeting moments. Unfortunately, these stunning weather conditions are becoming increasingly rare in our region due to climate change.
Calm is a state that begins within, but it’s highly influenced by external factors. Be mindful of the power of those influences to better preserve the calm. They can’t always be changed but even acknowledging them improve our state of mind.
Clouds and reflections - the power station on the river Drava near Rosseg in Carinthia, very close to the Slovenian border. The break at the rest-stop wasn’t planned as wasn’t the picture. Looked up, saw the crazy pink skies and the drone went up.
Abbey Rommersdorf in Neuwied, Germany. Founded in 1117 as Premonstratensian Abbey. Today it's a venue for the open-air festival of the city of Neuwied and the cloister concerts and a branch of the Koblenz State Main Archives.
Our youngest son is here from CO and that is Brian and I at the end of the pier with a lone fisherman last night. Dave took this with his drone. We were hoping for a great sunset while he was here but a cloud bank came in.

Covel Creek Falls, in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington. Kind of a tricky shot with a drone, especially trying to get a longer exposure with the air turbulence generated by the waterfall itself. Access is by trail #228 from either NF 76 or NF 28.
Last month conditions were so nice at river Amstel near Amsterdam. My drone could go just above the fog, the Windmill and Amsterdam are clearly visible. A moment later, two birds just checked out my drone very closely, an awesome experience.

A dronie with a mountain backdrop. How small we sometimes appear when in the mountains ... the summit withe the cross is the Zechnerkarspitze (2452m) in the background, along the ridge towards the north, the summits of the Hundstein, Mitterspitze and Blutspitze.
n my hometown, there is a water reservoir used for generating electricity. This aerial photograph, taken during a magnificent sunset in September 2020, captures the reservoir in a stunning light atmosphere. The scene also reveals the rolling hills and the expansive floodplains of the River Pfreimd in the Upper Palatinate.
A pumped-storage reservoir stores water at a higher elevation to generate electricity. During times of high demand, the stored water is released to drive turbines and produce power. When demand is low, excess energy is used to pump water back into the reservoir.
