driver's ed mutiny is my sister's latest independent film project. she is the producer & director of photography (cinematographer). she'll be shooting later this summer and my family has agreed to go along for the adventure :) we'll be traveling from iowa to california and back via route 66....should be fun!

London Taxi Drivers protest outside The Evening Standard newspaper awards night in Wapping that were sponsored by Uber.
The cabbies were highlighting the rise in rapes & sexual assaults committed in by ber drivers, PHVs & minicab drivers.
Current police figures are there are 25 REPORTED sexual assaults a week in London, committed by Uber/Minicab/PHV drivers.
Driver's Ed car.... This cracks me up every single time I see it around town.... Nice to see somebody with a sense of humor.
I won the fight against this MBI5030 PWM LED driver. It turned out that the datasheet I got from the distributor's website is "preliminary". I was trying to use stuff that simply isn't in the final silicon (like parity check for example). Still some functions don't work (like auto-shutoff if the PWM clock is missing). Oh well...

It looks a lot better than it sits. There seems to be no padding left in it, and the springs are shot. You sit in it, and it feels as if you're going to hit the floor. Through the seat.
In a few short hours I'll depart for Minneapolis to pick up a set of newer seats for it; they're the same color but out of an '88 5-series, and Sport-style. With heat and power adjusters. Woot!

The driver of this city-owned front end loader saw me watching and stopped to talk. He said he had been plowing snow since Friday (it was now Wednesday) and the city was running out of places to put the snow. He also complained about the idiots who insisted on driving for non-emergencies and getting in the way of the snow removal crews. But overall he seemed to be in a good mood and dealing with the unprecedented amount of snow we've had, even though a lot of folks were compaining that the city hadn't finished clearing their streets yet. He said I could send the photos I took to the mayor if I wanted.
