Unlike most of what I post, this one is more about the design than the photo. This fall I was tasked with creating a bus design for the class ring program at Virginia Tech. Here are the results.

In 2015, the Nashville Steam Preservation Society was formed with the goal to restore it to operation on the NERR.

She was built at Swindon, entering service in April 1948 at Old Oak Common (PDN).

Subsequent allocations as follows:-

Old Oak Common recoded 81A in January 1950

Oxford (81F) December 1950

Old Oak Common (91A) January 1952

St. Philips Marsh (82B) October 1963

Bristol Barrow Road (82E) May 1964

One of her final jobs was to take some others to Barry.

 

Withdrawn on December 17th 1965, she arrived at Woodham's, Barry for scrap, in February 1966.

She departed Barry for preservation, on the GCR, in November 1975. Restoration was completed in August 1986.

 

She took part in the 1948 Locomotive Exchanges, and actually ran along here on the former Great Central!.

A multi-driver with longer reach. It's only a 6-in-1, but sometimes the shank of the 11-in-1 is just too thick or short to reach the screws I need to access. That's where this one comes in handy.

Both shafts down to level now so all thats left to do is seal it by filling the void behind the shafts by pumping grout, a mixture of coment and water in through the grout plugs which there is one to every segment plate until there is no void!
