This isn't just any pile driver. This is a low profile special machine for working under utility wires. The site is the Middletown Township fishing pier, located at the south end of Belford Harbor. They are replacing the old rotted wood bulkhead with steel.

Trucking achieved national attention during the 60s and 70s, when songs and movies about truck driving were major hits. Truck drivers participated in widespread strikes against the rising cost of fuel, during the energy crises of 1973 and 1979, and the industry was drastically deregulated by the Motor Carrier Act of 1980. Trucking has come to dominate the freight industry in the latter portion of the 20th Century, along with what are termed "big-box stores" such as Wal-Mart and Target.

When we saw this one in Cochabamba, Bolivia, we just thought we HAVE to take it. The drivers seat was missing, but he had improvised something out of an old chair. He was a very nice guy. Had been a taxi driver for countless years.
