Just thought I'd share this pic i took since I love Heineken beer. so cheers to that. The Strongbow we just decided to try, it taste more like a martini than a beer. Anyways I'm fascinated with different kinds of drinks, and brands of cigarettes. It may go along with my principal to try everything at least once.
Feel free to recommend your favorite beers/drinks :)
Bastet, the most adorable & also most expensive street-find, to date... And let me just say, for an alley cat, she sure has impeccable taste! Ergo, watch out for those calicos!
Proof positive -->
The goddess Bastet was usually represented as a woman with the head of a domesticated cat. However, up until 1000 BC she was portrayed as a lioness. Bastet was the daughter of Re, the sun god. It may have been through him that she acquired her feline characteristics. When Re destroyed his enemy Apep, he was usually depicted as a cat. As portrayed as a cat, she was connected with the moon (her son Khonsu was the god of the moon). When shown as a lioness, she is associated with sunlight. Bastet was the goddess of fire, cats, of the home and pregnant women.
From Ancient Egypt: the mythology
So, here she is drinking from the bathroom sink faucet. Did I mention she ONLY drinks water from a faucet? Any faucet will do, but now she's started a new thing where she's actually climbing in the sink & giving herself a bath. Killing two birds with one stone, I suppose?
And, out of all the blankets in the space, she's chosen the most expensive one I've ever purchased - a cashmere throw (so I got it @ a sample sale & it was $700 off, still) as her favourite. Loving it in only the way a feline can, she's shredded it to bits. It now looks more like swiss cheese than a smart throw!
...BUT... just look...I can't stay mad for long, or at all, really. People who don't even like cats (and that did include me) even fall in love with her. Alas, I'm now one of "those". As in, one of "those" single-women-with-a-cat cliches! LOL.

I post this for the telling of my favorite experience at the Bristol Faire last Sunday. I bought a lemonade from some giggling young girls in a booth who dutifully put it in a paper Pepsi cup. Being the "Period Nazi" that I am I scarcely ever leave a food stand or bar without pouring my beverage into whatever historically accurate drinking vessel I have on me that day.
Anyhow, this particular day I had a moment of weakness, or perhaps you might say a remission of my mania. It was near the end of the day and I committed the folly of simply carrying the lemonade in the Pepsi cup. I didn't make it twenty paces before a girl standing outside of her shop began assailing me out loud for my "Epic Fail" to be dressed as a knight and drinking out of a paper cup!!! I laughed and congratulated her for pointing this out to the most anal f___ing retentive medieval reenactor she probably ever met while showing her the handblown glass from Belgium and bottell lined in bee's wax on my belt. I thanked her heartily for providing me the most poignant moment of the day:)

Had all these plans to go shoot the fireworks, or the blue fog and green fog and red fog that are our fireworks, and then went out for a drink and missed them! Hope everyone had a great 4th!
