As I walk down the dip slope of the Downs the first drifts start to appear. These made going pretty difficult for some time to come
From a Covid 19 visit to the VanDusen Botanical Garden.
We had to make a reservation and book our visit for a specific day and time.
It was raining, but we decided to visit anyway.
No crowds, raindrops on everything, beautiful views and smells everywhere.
Along Livingstone Lake, they have planted drifts of red, white and pink Astilbe (aka False Goats Beard).

Beyond the wind shaped drift it was clear skies and a solid blanket of fog to the north on this day at Roan.
Drifting Away

ICM picture made in Belgium, in river Lesse. The sun was shining through the green summer leaves in the trees above, and left a green reflection in the streaming water.
The water is getting wilder.
UP GP40-2 1417 leads the Troy Grove local South near Shabbona, IL, busting some nice drifts at Duffy Road.
DRS 66422 'Max Joule 1958 - 1999' leads 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe south pass Selside. This would be the last shot of a rather successful day in the snow, as the logs would catch us out by missing their booked stop at Blea Moor.

It feels like winter is over - we already have primrose and crocus in our garden blooming. I have still one picture from last winter when I was out during a weekend afternoon snow drift walk. There were not many people out except very few for a dog walk.
back on my moody beach ... a song about detachment which I was privileged to hear live last week. I found the performance deeply moving. Eivor's soaring vocal range backed by syncopated keys ... enjoy with my blurred breaking waves

Hudson River ice is one of my favorite things about winter here in the Hudson Valley. It's constantly changing with the tides and makes every outing unique in finding compositions.
We have had a series of snowstorms here recently. Snowplows have cleared back roads like this one, making huge piles of snow along the fence line. Then came the wind, blowing drifts around the plowed snow. HFF

This is a photograph of the farmland and landscape at the base of Mount Sassolongo, part of the Langkofel Mountain range, in the Dolomites, Northern Italy. The fog and mist is plentiful, especially during morning hours.

We've been having heavy rains for the last 3 days that are expected to continue onto Friday. So we may need a boat to go to work. :)
Have a great week my friends.
