... dommage que nous n'ayons pas visité la citadelle ...
Mais peut-être que ça marchera la prochaine fois!
(... peut-être qu'on lui a rendu visite après tout?)
My eyes have always been drawn to the moons beautiful glow. Many a night during my youth, I would go out and lie in the soft grass just to stare at the moon and of course, wish upon a star.
I must say that Tuesday's moonrise was pretty spectacular. At first, the moon seemed so low that had I been on the rooftop at the end of the street, I could have just stepped onto the glorious orange ball.
I watched for a while as the moon climbed higher and higher. With each noticeable change in distance, the orange color would fade just a touch. Finally, just before I stepped away, the glorious moon simply looked bright white.
Times have certainly changed. Instead of lying in the grass, I went out to the front yard with the camera and took a few shots. I also smiled and waved at a few neighbors that were walking by and giving me the strangest of looks. And of course, most importantly, I placed a wish upon the first bright star of the night.
May your weekend be splendid and your sweet dreams come true. Happy snapping.

Line Creek Falls.
A very small waterfall on a trail near my home. I shot this with my younger daughter several weeks ago. I’ve been experimenting with different long exposure times whenever I get the chance. I find the shorter the better on waterfalls.
On this particular composition, I was trying to get as close to the action as possible without getting to wet.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of that which you truly love.

I've been daydreaming all day about photography. It's definitely more interesting that folding laundry and scrubbing toilets.

This drawing was made collaboratively by a remarkable Chicago based artist couple. The drawing brings together their respective practices in a whimsical image that speak (for me) of the tenuous existence of someone like Temma (the indirect subject of all of the works in this project).
This is one of the 23 works in the upcoming enigmatic group exhibition titled "Deposition: Drawn" at North Park University. Opening reception on February 14 (Valentine's Day!) 4:30 - 6:30 and running through March 9.
This exhibition is an unusual mash-up of my work as curator (primarily as gallery director at @npuchicago ) and my work as an artist (particularly work that is related to my most frequent subject, my daughter Temma). I sent each of the participating artists a unique prompt which was for me somehow related to Temma. The participating artists then made a drawing related to their prompt. They also developed an accompanying text / title for the drawing. And then they sent that text to me along with a high resolution scan of their drawing.
